I can't thank grgbulldog enough for selling me the Savage 25! Got my bodies in the mail first thing today and immediately called my neighbor that's selling me his HPI RS4 Racer 2. We gathered up the rigs and headed out to the local 1/8th track. Spent the $10 for both of us to run for the day ($5 each). O M G what a rush! I burned through a spur on my first practice run because the mill wasn't aligned right. Replaced the spur and back to the track we went. For the first time EVER I burned through an entire GALLON of fuel! Wrecks, tumbles, barrel rolls and more and this thing acted like it wanted MORE of a beating! Fastest lap was 00:37.674. The fastest buggy there today ran 00:34.826. Total cost in breakage, $4.24 for the spur gear. It feels so good to finally have a rig that'll take a beating at the track and not cost me $50 for a day of running.

congrats!!! now your addicted...

repeat after me

Hi my name is (insert name here), and I am addicted to RC.

It is a amazing feeling isn't it, i love trucks that can really take anything(almost) i throw at it!!
The Revo is the next one to get his ass dirty!!:radio:

Right on, good to hear you had a blast with the new rig. I'm never sorry to burn up a spur gear....next to fuel tubing I think it's the cheapest / easiest thing to replace. :)
Only 3 seconds behind the buggies, sounds like a good truck and good driving were involved.

It's truly an amazing feeling to be able to run more than a tank or 2 before having to go home for the day. I do admit that the first 5 or so heats were a bit hectic and I did more than my fair share of apologizing to other drivers and turn marshals. But once I got used to the handling on the jumps, it was wheel stands and slingin dirt from there on. Beason, you mentioned addicted, pft...that's the understatement of the year there. I'm already trying to figure out how to afford a $42 a day fuel habbit!

how much fuel you burnin a day to spend that much?!

I burnt through a gallon at the track. Prices here range between $37 to $46 a gallon depending on the brand your get. Most of it was ran through the Savage but about 4 tanks or so was spent on the RS4 that I'm buying from my neighbor. We ran that around the parking lot a few times to break it in since I run different fuel than him.

Of course man. I'll take the camera along for the next bash for sure.

Well... 1 gallon of 20% now costs around $35. Spur gear $4.24. Entry fees $5. That puts you at $44.24...

Still, any day you can burn an entire gallon of fuel running a truck and part of that gallon wasn't break in, that's a damn fine day indeed! I haven't had one of those days in many years.

Keep in mind that we did have 2 rigs with us, so between the 2 we ran a gallon. Yes I see your point about spending all but $50, but at least it wasn't all repairs! LOL.

LOL...amazing what can happen when the Mrs. takes a ladies shopping day out! Sooooo, naturally I took a guys day out!

Yeah my wife has no idea whats coming this Saturday she is going to take my daughter shopping to finish off the school clothes and supplies thing. I said sure you can drop me off at the hobbytown 3 miles from the mall which has a track out back. I will have the check book in my back pocket. I will see if I can actually run my truck without breaking something. Since I bought it I have broken something every time I had it out, then again I bought it used and don't know what kinda abuse it had before hand. I have new A-arms all the way around now rpms up front and traxxas extended in the rear, new rpm axle carriers up front, new front pushrods and turnbuckles, and new piggyback shocks not much left to break(knocks on wood),
