What a crappy RC day

Well today was a total waste...I invited a friend of mine out to play with RCs twice now trying to convince him to buy one of my kits (mostly so I'll have someone to bash with) the first time we forgot all the stuff we needed to start the nitros so we played with the electric for about 25 minutes till a steering knuckle broke.....today we went out and baked under the hot sun for 4 hours trying to get the nitros runnign and couldnt get either of them to run properly....I'm suspecting my fuel went bad since last year even though it hasnt turned colors and its been in a mostly dim cool room the whole winter.....oh well that gallon is almost gone anyway so I'm gonna go get some new and try it again probably monday. The reason I suspect the fuel is I had the same problem last year and as soon as I got new fuel....problem went away....Everyone talks about how they keep their nitro fuel for years and its still good.....IDK how cuz mine seems to go bad after sitting for two winters in a row now. each year was a different brand of fuel. Oh well, I';ll get to the bottom of it and i told my friend that I would have them running properly before we go out again the next time. heh

I've never had fuel last long enough to have an opportunity to go bad. What kind of fuel was it?

The sleeves that traxxas installs into their gallon jugs seem to make my fuel stay fresher longer. When I'm ready to pop open a new gallon of fuel I just transfer the sleeve and I'm good. Maybe your lhs can get one for you.

I feel your pain ... my brother and I had been looking forward to bashing today all week and my revo broke about 2 minutes into the first tank and then motor in his slash fried about halfway through the first pack.

it was odonnells this year, sidewinder last year......i have electrics and nitros both so i dont always get all my fuel used by the time the cold weather hits.
