Well I drove and wrecked my first nitro truck :( update

My friend let me borrow his Tmaxx last night since he was going out of town today. These things are a freaken rush for sure!! I was cruising through this field behind our new home like no ones business. Anyways, it came time to head back to the old house. Once I got back, I just had to fire her up for a few more minutes. She was doing awsome jumping off the street curves untill I lost controll in a jump and she hit our mail box :omg: You could see instantly the passenger front a arms was busted off. Well so far this is what is broken:

Both shocks.
Both a arms
Radio receiver box

I've got all the parts on order right now and all the broken parts removed. This should be back in play in 2-4 days. I hope to get my Revo ordered tomorrow and hopefully I'll have this fixed the same time for us to go bashing.

:OMG: ouch ,this is the main reason i do not run someone else's or lend mine out
but then my sons have wrecked mine and handed it to me ,lol
and your pics are extremely dark

Ya, I wished I was at our new house so I could use the shop to work on this. My garage isn't lit for crap.

Anyways, the truck will be as good as new when he gets it back. If I break something, I fix it or buy another one. This truck will be good as new when he gets it back ;)

you may want to dirty it up and stuff(not as rough as you did to brake it) so that he doesn't suspect anything.

I did the same thing, I borrowed my buddies Revo. Ran it along a fence not realizing I faded in and clipped one the fence poles. Just two broken parts.

I just got a Genisis, haven't drove it yet, broke a transmission shaft as soon as turned the power on. Waiting 2 weeks now to drive my new truck. Its killing me to wait!

hhaa, that must suck. Thats exactly why i dont borrow my car out to people, and try to be careful when driving someone elses.

Does he know yet?

Damn I hate AOL....I have to log on to this site using Mozilla. It used to work ok with AOL but now it want do crap :ponder2:

Anyways, I tried to call my friend yesterday but couldn't get in touch with him. I'm not the type to hide things from people. He's a really laid back guy and any how. Well the parts should get shipped out sometime today and I should order my Revo from Bruce as well :)

Haha, thats great...been there done that with my T-Maxx...this is a good time to switch to the RPM Control Arms...way tough. Looks like about $50 to me, quoting from experience. Now its time for you to make an offer on his truck snd buy it off him, so he can go buy a new one and you can keep the one you broke.

are you being serious?

is that what friends should expect from you?

Well I finnaly got a hold of my friend....he said he was glad he didn't loan me his Lightning to drive :( Anyways he was cool about it but a little bummed thinking his truck would be down when I get mine in. I told him I had already ordered the parts and he should be up running when mine arrives. This put him in a better mood for sure. If all goes well, we'll be bashing it up this weekend

Even tho ya smacked it up pretty good, at least you were up front and are in the process of repairing it. some of my ex-friends would not have even bothered. Super glue and duct tape for me, lol.

You may want to throw in a cleaning job for him (use the search features for information on how to clean it), just to make it look better than when ya borrowed it. It'll also allow to you see any other damage that might be there, so you won't get a nasty call a week or so down the line.

I'm with you heartbreak. my old friends would have just gave it back and say they would buy the parts and never do it. well SVORay your a good man for buying the parts and telling him instead of liing or hiding it.

A buddy of mine crashed my T Maxx into a pole and broke bulkheads and a arms. I spent 80 bucks getting aluminum bulkheads, titanium hinge pins, and RPM a arms. I asked him to pay for half because I was upgrading, and he accepted. I wouldn't expect him to pay for all of it, I'm the one who let him drive it. :opps:

Yes sir.

Well as some of you know I'm ordering a Revo from RushRC and been talking to Bruce over the phone here lately. Anyways, I got on the subject of my friends Tmax and asked him about cleaning it up. He mentioned a few things and I'll get started on it sometime today or tomorrow. I should get the new parts in tomorrow or thursday.
