i had bought a wasp 28 engine about 4 week (maybe a little earlier).........went through the break in fine & tuning..........runing temp is around 245 to 250 max.........it starts great on the first start of the day.........when i refuel it & try to start it again it just wont start but i can let it sit for an hour (sometimes 2hrs) and it starts right up ? i put in a new turbo plug and still get the same results.......what do i do to correct this agervation ? more tuning ? lean or richen the high or low or both ?

well i have allready installed, broke in & tuned the wasp 28.........i didnt have the starting problem till this week & it idles fine.........just the thing wont start the second time unless it sits for an hour or 2 then it does just fine.......dont make sence.......no air leaks...........good new turbo plugs.........not overheating & runs about 245-250........

thanks fer the help........i found the problem i think.........i started it up & just let it idle & watched the engine........i noticed fuel bubbling out a little around the screw thing what holds the carb to the crankcase.......does that mean i have an air leak or a bad carb ?

Try sealing the carb neck. If your Pinch bolt is leaking I would check it out. It may be stripped

i took off the carb & put silicone on it & put it back in......the bolt wasn't striped but was loose a little.......while i had the mill out i went ahead & replaced all the gaskets/o-rings & sealed the backplate too with silicone......gota let it cure for 24hrs before i can run it but hope it does it......if it still dont do rite I'm gona smash it up with a hammer after i set fire to it then I'm gona get an OS engine.........

With this many replies on this engine, Have you contacted the Manufacturer about this problem?

I've tried 6 times to call them & caint get nobody.......all i get is a recording that says yoyr call caint be completed as @@@@@@.......the # i have is 714-694-2812.........if i dial just the # before dialing 1 it says i have to dial a 1 then the #.........if i dial 1 & the # i get the caint be completed message......

try calling from a cell phone or something. My house phone isnt setup for any long distance phone calls so I have to use one of my parents cell phones and it works.

still caint get anyone.......even the fax # dont work.......well anyhow I'm wandering if the clutch could cause the trouble I'm having......weak springs maybe ? thats the only thing i havent looked at but how do you look for a weak springs ? they aint broke or bent but look normal to my eye.

If you are to look at your clutch it would be because it was idling wrong or it dies when you put it on the ground. Then I would look for a faultyh bearing or a worn spring.

In your case I Would look into contacting the Manufacturer still. PM me the information. I will help you out.

10 replys including a mod, ...& no one says anything about this being in the general electric talk section? LOL

I was waitin for someone else to notice that too. I guess everyone has their blonde days :hehe:.

I saw that, I figured someone was in the process of moving it, or I just saw it wrong.
