total with shiping and with a $25 store discount was 302.75 I'm looking to run dirt modified at my local tack, i have the spring kit already and the threade shocks already. i also have an edm body from my nitro.

does anyone hve any good setups?

Well, the higher the Mah rating, the longer the runtime. 1800 is not very long. I'm assuming the motor in that T4 is 27T which is relatively easy on power but 1800mah still won't last very long. In all honesty you are better off investing in batteries with higher mah ratings. Yes, I know they get pretty pricey but the conveniance is nearly priceless. Dont' think that you can just swap back and forth between those packs. If you charge them at too high of an amperage you will damage them. Best case scenario, you charge at 1.8A and it'll take approx. 1 hour to charge and you're probably gonna get like 10minutes of runtime (I'm just guessing there but it'll be pretty short). Now the thing is.. you don't want to stick the pack right on the charger as soon as you're done with it. It needs to rest for a while (like half an hour) to cool before you charge it again. So basically if you're trying to swap back and forth between packs you got about 80 minutes to wait after the second pack runs out until you'll be ready to use the 1st one again.

well, my main thing is i want to get out on the track as soon as posible, if i bought m2 30 doller bateries (i was planning on buying 2 nomatter) my mom more than likely wouldnt have let me use her credit card so i went with the cheap (also because it came in a bundle saving me 15 bucs) the way i see it, i can always upgrade latter.

I wouldnt personaly go more than a 3300mah battery. Spend $50-$60 on an OK 5000mah battery, and you will get more runtime than 4 1800mah batteries running back to back..... JMO. You are going to want to upgrade alot sooner than you plan.

ok, so i need to put a betery on my checklist, is there anything else that i will need?

go lipo i found a 2s batt 5000mah for 19.95 plus shipping on hobbycity.com i am thinking of getting them for my slash

from wat i understand i would need to buy a lipo compatible esc to go with it and since i know like nothing about electric i dont think that would be best to jump right into

That's not necessarily true. You don't "NEED" an ESC with a low voltage cutoff, although it is handy. It is true that Lipo's can become unstable if they are over-discharged. However, they will dump prett quickly and as long as you stop running your car as soon as you notice a fair power decrease you'd be ok.

However, I don't think you really need Lipo to begin with. I suggest you get yourself a quality 4500 or 5000mah pack. If you go with something like an IB5000 you'll be looking at something like $60 per pack but the performance advantage will blow those duratrax packs out of the water.

I have 4 packs like these... 2 6-cell packs in an E-Maxx and 2 7-cell packs in a Summit and they rock.

Going with a higher MAH pack would be highly recommended, not only will you have longer run times but you will also have more punch and with one 5000mah pack you could probably run 2-3 heat races and a Main, with those little 1800mah packs you will be struggling to finish one heat race. Just what I have found from racing my RC10T3 in the past when I had 2400mah matched packs it was one pack per race.
