My boy has a 1/16 traxxas grave digger. It is basically stock except for the four wheel drive conversion. stock esc and motor. I bought a venom lipo for it, 2s 7.4v 2000mh. The truck ran great. after the second charge I put it in his truck and almost immediately he lost control and the truck crashed and even with the controller turned off it was still running max out. By the time I got to the truck the esc was smoking like an old steam engine. Complete meltdown of the esc. Did I make a mistake switching to lipo? I though I had done enough research and was reasonably certain that I had gotten the right battery for the truck. I even went through the manual on how to set the low voltage cutoff.
Thank You for your help, Shaun

No the lipo would not have any effect on it losing control. Also, NEVER turn off the radio before turning off the receiver, its just something you should make mental note of not doing.

I had him turn it off as it was upside down running like mad and I was not wanting to pick up a truck with the wheels spinning that fast. It was in a corner with nowhere to go so it was against the rules but a last effort to stop the wheels. Shaun
