I’ve had it !!! I’ve got nearly a $500 castle creations system in my dbxl , it badly needs to be programmed, I’ve purchased and returned the PC VERSION , and now I have the Bluetooth b2 link system and I get no blue light at all , I’ve watched every video there is , these you tube clowns , they all say ,,, plug it in and your ready to go , that’s nothing but crap , you need to password the thing on the app ,, you need to set your fone up for it , download the app , then bind the stupid thing , I’ve done all that crap , then I’ve tried calling a main , they all admit there stupid , then I’ve called castle 5 times. , I just set my fone down and wait on hold for hours , never any answer there crap is expensive , answer your dam fone CROOKS !! And another thing , they got all this fancy packaging, and for got to include some detections aside from download the app and plug it into the esc wire,, that’s all it says , just plain PATHETIC!!!

I feel your frustration.

The last few times I have pulled my Castle Link out I have had connection issues that needed to be diagnosed and repaired prior to use.

Each one had nothing to do with Castle itself, but I was definitely frustrated with the process so ultimately they take some of that.

For me the first time was about 6-8 months ago, I was having a connection issue and managed to get it working. Recently the same problem came up and a user here suggested a new cable.

It seemed weird to me as it worked in the past and did initially show connected prior to updating the USB dongle.

Bottom line, I too can find technology frustrating and I have generally embraced it my whole life.

You called them and didn't get through? Its 2025, phone tech support is nearly dead. Have you even tried submitting a tech support ticket? Emails usually get faster responses in this modern world.

I've had better luck with email than phone calls with castle. Early morning is best if your going to call and keep time zones in mind. They are here in KC so central standard.

I use a lot of castle stuff and never had any issues with their PC connect system or the bluetooth adapter but I also have an in house teenager to help me with tech from time to time.

As far as I'm concerned, Castle has been a great company to deal with. They are local to me so I might be a bit biased. I love going there. They have lots of cool toys on display and are always more than willing to help me with anything I need. Their trade in program is great too. Take a deep breath or two and give them a chance. I'm sure they will help you out.

If I recall, isn't there a known issue with the castle bluetooth programmer? Like it can lose connection and brick the esc? I didn't have any luck with mine, weird connectivity and when googling fixes, happened upon that bricking issue. The USB/pc chip has worked fine on multiple castle esc's.

What’s truly pathetic is spending $500 on crap that don’t work and the people who make it seem to go into hiding , if everybody is so happy with castle ,,,, anybody wanna buy my stack of crap for $500 ??? Didn’t think so, I’ve exhausted every avinue here before I get pissed off , I’m not a doctors lawyer where money isn’t a issue , if anybody goes through this and tell me your not irritated , it’s not true as for the you tube gimme your click clowns , well I got that from talbott AND park fliers there a few fantastic you tubers out there but most are just not qualified to hand out advise that’s just my American granted opinions , heck with is crap , I’m going fishing for walleye on the mighty Columbia , castle will probably respond while I’m gone

This . I've had zero issues with my MMX8S & the USB quick connect link. I read the B link Bluetooth connector has issues too. Castle Link works fine on my laptop.

Is there no Castle Fieldlink programmer card that will get you hooked up and going?

Somehow brushless requires constant updating, adjusting and tweaking.
I have a 40 year old Futaba esc that still works JUST FINE!

I need for ANYONE to explain how an esc that works on day one, suddenly stops working and can only be fixed by a computer telling it how it messed up.

My computer got blown out with windows 10. Not a TINY bit of chance I'll be buying Spyware errr Windows 11.
My phone IS spyware and I throw it in the trash, down the stairs or in the basement as often as possible.
My option for getting my RCs 'updated' (to give google a foot in my door) is to go to the local library and let them spy on me there.

Integrating the thing I hate most with the thing I love most... yeah, thats going exactly as well as someone might image it would.

If it worked when I bought it, it should continue to work until the day I blow it up. End of story.

My $500 piece of advanced technology junk has never worked right, they have a field card but it’s just for there planes n helicopter stuff , I got one and sent it back after trying it , hobbywing on the other hand, I have several and allllll of them are completely programmable with a couple different programmers I have , and no problems at all , sure wish I lived in the castle neibor hood !! I thought they had 2 field cards. 1 surface, 1 for air? I dunno. I don't own any Castle gear. I didn't get an answer when I emailed a question about a product a few years back. Still waiting on that answer before I'll feel good dumping a few grand on their doorstep.

I ran into my first HW issue this year.
I have a program card from my pro sct esc kit I ordered back in the day. Hooked it up to a HW esc and it just said connecting. It wouldn't work.

After a ton of research I learned that I would have needed to update the firmware on that programmer to keep it working with newer esc's.

I picked up a new one and it connected right away.

It seems like anything involving computers in some way finds itself with compatibility issues at some point.

I put that old programmer in my lipo storage box. It has one final task in life before I'll let it die.

That's correct. A USB data cable & not a charger cable. The later doesn't work.

Hopefully I won't have to mess around with updating the programmer and escs I have currently.
It seems like if its new, out of the box, it shouldn't require an update before its first use. If it needs this, YOU DO IT!!! THEN put it in a box and sell it.
I wouldn't buy a new car that needs a tune up before I can use it either. This seems very common sense to me.

I dont think updates are required, they just add more features but the system can be used as is when purchased. Just like anything that operates on software, the manufacturer does what it has to do to release the product and then continues improving software over time.

Anybody bought a new car lately? Disable internet connection and see how long all those fancy features you overpaid for take to stop working. Cell phones are no different. I deal with it daily. I'm not saying I agree with it. Nobody asked for my input on the matter. It is what it is.
