Been cleaning more parts and assembled the front assembly. I've fitted a RPM front bumper since I will be bashing this one.

I've fitted nylock nuts where possible to prevent screws pulling out of plastic.

The hinge pins were in bad shape.

Chassis is back together with tank and engine mount.

Weird thing is, the straighter one was the hardest to remove. Because of the rust I guess.

Drive shafts were only just holding on. And twisted.

Gearbox was in good order.
All I did was clean it, new bearings and shims and add new grease. The old bearings were OK but I replaced them anyway for peace of mind.
I also opened up the diff and greased.

Brake and spur and slipper eliminator in place.

I'm pretty sure the spur gear has never been used.

Front shocks fitted. I rebuilt these during the first build. They're the standard plastic shocks with alloy caps. The rears will be the same spec.

Gearbox in. I'm just using the standard output yokes atm but I'm going to order some steel ones. When I do, I'll fit all new drive shafts.

The steel shafts of the diff didn't have a hole for a through pin so I had to use the grub screws and the centre screw. Must be because it's an early version I'm guessing.

It is indeed. I'm being less particular and I have most parts required. But as of Wednesday, it won't be touched for another week as I go back to work.

The suspension tune was all over the place.

Rear suspension built. New hinge pins, bearings(it still had brass bushes), turnbuckles, half shafts and stub axles.

And rear end assembled.

Well, I got a lot more done than I was expecting, over the last few days. But that's it for another week.

Whats left:

• Clean, refresh and fit the engine
• Order missing parts
• Fit steering turnbuckles and servo
• Fit throttle/brake linkages and servo
• Glue wheels
• RX and TX
• Wheel alignment
• Body

I'm also going to order new clutch shoes as the old ones are oil soaked. The metal drive yokes and a new servo saver. Mainly because I don't want to have issues with them later.

I foresee a RPM front shock tower being required one day but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I couldn't stand to see that rusty lid spring. It had to go.

HD outdrive yokes fitted and new half shafts.

The complete driveshafts are new now, and I have spares.
