Yeah, I believe you need a new Hex (17 mm) and then the buggy wheels will work. 30 more minutes and it will be here! Haha. And as for the video, I'll try to get it. I Won't have anyone to record, so I may have to sit the camera on the ground if that's okay.

I've noticed a few guys using buggy wheels. The dish wheels are a lot cheaper and easier to glue tires on and try different treads than a beadlock system, imo.

Okay guys! It go here, and I absolutely love it. I'm used to racing a Jato on a dirt track and all I can say is this is an extreme upgrade lol. As for the XL-5 Esc, combined with this LiPo, it is perfect speed for the track. I went to my friend's house, and he has a nice backyard track so we all raced around there, and I was beating 2 slayers and a T-maxx with it. I had plenty of torque, handling, and enough speed for a track. They would pull away a bit in the straight away, but they couldn't beat me in turns. I don't think I'm going to go brushless yet. At least for racing...it'll end up being overkill like my Stampede on a track. I can't keep the front end down.

i am going to take my 1/8 Nitro raze Buggy for its first track run Next week. I'll try to snag some footage and post it up. You can see how bad I suck on a track. Mad skills throwing Nitros in the air but no skill landing them. lol

Oh I will! Haha, I enjoy doing videos. I don't have sound with my camera, but it's electric anyway. It's not extremely fast, and it's not a wheelie machine like my other rigs, but I'd say it does 30 mph up my street. Plenty enough for a track like I said.

tracks don't require more than that for speed if you are good at your turns and landings. love to see it ...who needs sound on an electric anyway. :

Speaking of jumps/landings, I'm very impressed the way the Slash Jumps. It landed perfect on every jump I took. And the handling was really nice too. Just a few times the 2WD killed me and I spun out.

Jumping a Slash is all about the takeoff. If you take off a little messed up, or on the gas....it will nose high...and refuse to correct in the air. If I had one gripe about the Slash it's the way it jumps...and it's inability to correct mid air ;-) That and the fact it turns into a wind sail if you get it nose high off a big jump. These problems only really showed up when I went Brushless though. In Spec form....it's a near perfect rig when running a 2s LIPO. I'm racing my first Spec Slash race tomorrow...should be fun!

I think that's why a lot of guys are putting weight in the front end of it. Pick up a strip of stick on lead weights at your LHS and stick a few in the front end and see if that helps. Also, are you familiar with using throttle and brake to manipulate it while it's in the air? Brake to bring the nose down, throttle to bring it up. About the only thing you don't want to do, and a slipper clutch does help lighten the strain, but you don't want to hit the ground going wide open throttle.

I'm not sure Motogod...lol last night for me jumping, it was near perfect. I don't know if I got lucky or what, but I took a lot of jumps where I was sideways in the air and it managed to come down on all four and continue driving without losing much momentum.

Another thing you may want to check is your battery placement, make sure the battery is as far forward as possible and the foam block is in the rear.

That's a good idea Boogie! I'll try that tomorrow when I race. I put my VXL system in with 86/23 gearing, and it's actually pretty nice. It's not a wheelie machine like my Stampede. I'll let everyone know how it goes tomorrow, and I'll try to snag some video.

Here is what I would like to call the "BlackSmith Basher Blueprint" for the Slash or any RC with the same weight and dimensions.
Esc: VXL or Caslte ESC
Motor:VXL(3500) or MM4600
Battery:4000-8000Mah
Spur: 90
Pinion:14-18

I would appreciate any feedback on the use of this "Blueprint"

Looks pretty good, although you may be able to get away with running a slightly taller pinion without too much heat.
