vertical metal post on hyper star

if anyone has taken a look at the hyperstar from ofna, there is a metal post mounted on the radio tray sort of above the steering servo. it also has a plastic ball cup mount on it. does anyone know what that is ?

thank you so much ,that's actually the first picture I've seen of the car with engine in it ,and I guess that air filter it comes with it ,because I use small oval proline filters that would make no sense with that post . thanks again .
