4000kv on 6s is way to much. It would exceed the motor in terms of RPM. (Looking at around 100,800 rpm at full throttle) Ideally should be looking around 1800-2000kv setup for 6s.
For a truggy I would also look for a motor size around 4274.

If you want to stick with the Max8, this would be the best imo, although kv is a little high, add a fan/heatsink and gear down just a bit and it should stay cool.
Or if you want something cheaper although less capable, the 8BL150 with the 4274 2000kv motor is also great (Planning to use that in my Typhon in the future but with a 4268 motor)
4268 in a truggy could work but it would be a bit slow off the line and sluggish.

For normal everyday type of truggy running, either of those combos Mr.BombPop mentioned should work for 4S. I can tell you that I chose the EZRun Max8 G2/4278 2250kv combo for my truggy. I wish I could give firsthand knowledge on the combo, but it's still in the box waiting for rainy catch up on some projects day install.

I don't know what 4000kv motor you were looking at. I'm guessing it was the 3665 4000kv G3 motor. That size motor would struggle, and is only rated for 3S.

If you really want to run 6S LiPo packs, you'd be better off looking at lower kv motors (1700~1500). At least you have a motor mount that orients the motor to the rear of the chassis for many longer can options.
