I'm new on RC world.. I'm about to buy a Monster GT 4.6SE RTR to replace my RC18MT.. The guy who sells it gives an XP3 controller, a glow igniter, an ½ gallon of nitro, a spare casing, 2 fuel bottles, a roto-start shaft (hex) and some others things for 325$ neg. The truck burnt 1½ tank he says.

I have few questions to ask..
Is 1½ tank is enough to break-in a engine or..
Do I need some other accessories or pruducts with it?
What do you think about the price?
Is this a good first truck for me?
If a have a 'bit of knowledge in mecanic, will it be tough to tune? (what do I'll have to tune?)
The guy says that the truck had never see dirt, snow or water. I saw couple of pictures, it looks pretty clean.

Oops, I forgot to ask: what type of nitro is recommended for this truck?

I'm no expert like some of the others, but I too got a MGT 4.6SE in used condition and I love it. The qeustion on the break in - no its most likely not enough to break it in - but thats the fun of running them you can break it in - follow the break in chart that is in the forum - tuning is easy for me just keep it simple in what you do little at a time. You have enough equipment to get stated and have fun - remember parts will break, especially when you hit stuff - parts are not that expensive at least compared to other hobbies. Good luck

Most engines require at least 500cc's of fuel or more if it's a big block before break-in is anywhere close to done. I don't know thunder tiger engines specifically, but I know my LRP's didn't loosen up and run well until I had about 1500cc's through. Even then, after I hit a gallon (3785cc's) was when it really settled down and put out good power.
