well, i was going to get a jammin (500)... then a hyper PBS (470)... but my budget only let me get a violater..

is the violater good? i got it for the suspension, larger engine, shaft start, and the ability to get a 2-speed. i know its too wide for ROAR, but on ofnas site they say u can clip a bit off the a arms to make it a ROAR sized wheelbase.

if not, my GF is getting an 8th, and ill give her the violation of her life, and get me a jammen ;) my actual plan was to get a RTR then a pro kit later. if the violater is a decent RTR ill keep it and just get a pro kit in the near future (next month lol)

What is your budget? I have a PCR for sale rtr for $250 its in good condition with a few hopups. I wouldn't settle for the violater, its an old design, and not the best one either. Check out the forsale forum you might find what your looking for.

if you can get a nice pro kit next month anyway wait, save your cash and get a sick engine/ nicer radio and servos...hell if you wait another month you could set up a nice prospec or XB8 and just be done w/ buying stuff...other wise you'll end up like half of us here w/ a pile of RC stuff that's bad ass and no way to get all the money you dumped into em......and be careful whatyou buy because you might get Violated little girlie man

To answer your question, yes the Violator is a great buggy for bashing, with the 2 speed (this is an option you probably know) and the .26, it rockets so fast youll be impressed. However, the front kingpins should be replaced and you should obviously upgrade the steering servo. I saw a brand new one (think I already told you) for 350.

If you are on a budget, in my humble opinion, I would get the Hyper 7 PBS or PCR (just lay down servo difference). Stay away from exotics because parts are harder to get although you might initially get a good deal.

yeah, i got the violater already, it was 370 at tower after shipping, should be at my door by tuesday... i would have gotten the hyper PBS but that starter box is all plastic, and needs 2 battory packs that i can't afford for another 2 weeks... i had 400 even, and i have just enuf for a gallon of gas and a D size batt for the glo igniter (i already have an ultra torque metal gear hitec and plenty of AA's)

i figured i wouldent get a "preformance" RTR because i already planned to get either a kyosho sp1 or jammin pro in july.

i would like to get more info on how to de-crown the king, is it hard to replace the front suspension? it has the same diffs as the other race worthy rigs, so i guess if i make the violater a violater PBS it will be like a muscle car.

also, i can't wait to see if the motor is slow or fast... then after it gets old ima get the new 3.1 hp picco .27 and ill hopefully have the 2 speed by then.
