So I'll ask again, what does this have to do with my 40 year old RC parts.
Tax the hell out of butter and rice...
I buy as much of my food as possible from local markets and farms.
I bet there aren't a whole lot of American RC manufacturers suffering from massive Japanese and Chinese tariffs.
If they want to target the issue, go right on ahead.
Tax the hell out of car companies and high tech... tax EVERY export that currently is being taxed by other countries! Makes good sense!
They are taxing ALL of us on EVERYTHING.
Shutting down international trade in the name of profit...
Thats costing US money to make bigger profits for companies that WE don't own.

I buy as much food as I can locally. Its fresher and generally its got more nutrients. Buying local produce supports my local economy. The farmers are literally my neighbors. Its would benefit the entire planet to eat locally.
Shipping lettuce across the country or the planet is utter stupidity.

I have ordered one item on-Amazon from China. After three weeks the seller in China informed me the product had been damaged and returned to them. The Seller promised me a full refund. I don't believe it was damaged. I believe it was stopped at the border for inspection an found the tariff was not paid by the seller.

I have ordered two RC electric parts from an Amazon seller in China. I received a message that my arrival of those items could be severely delayed and added tariff funds might be needed.

I now look closely on where the seller is (USA). I now only by from a USA seller

I try my best to buy from the US but tend to go to China and Australia here and there. I ordered from injora in China through ebay and it came through in 15 days. No issues.

I agree with supporting your local economy, however it does make sense to ship and receive produce from other areas and countries, for example I bet there are no coffee farms in your area.....

I see stuff like this as a money grab. It gives people a reason to get more.

Last time we had this i stopped at what I thought was ace hardware. They sold the store and stock several years earlier I found out. I bought some k&s aluminum that was marked the same as hobby stores. After I paid i found out it was double. Guy blamed trump and tariffs. It still had an ace hardware sticker on it. I will go 30 minutes one direction past there for stuff now.

I can live without the 700% tariff on rice or whatever it is. I can live without the tariff that is on everything in my life now because there is a tariff on that rice.
I'm ok with eating local from here on out too.

This isn't shifting manufacturing to US. Its moving to Taiwan.
How long before this instigates a war between Taiwan and China I wonder.

If China was smart, it would drop all its prices to every other country. The US labor rates will prevent US manufacturing from competing with China's labor rates and product prices. China has easy access to cheap materials too. US can't compete with that either. Mayhe we should have thought about supply chains before we pissed off most of the planet??? Is the US is planning to start the whole of the reindustrial revolution? How long will that take?
How long do they think we can afford $8000 US built TVs? We will be the only ppl on thr planet buying them at that price. Everyone else on the planet will keep right on doing what they do with everyone but the US.
We've been buying things on this 'global economy' for a few decades now. Electronics have been coming from overseas since I've been alive anyways. Suddenly this is an issue.
