We still got 2 of em 😅

They don’t handle mowing duty any more, but still use them around the yard and gardens. Who knows how many hours them K series have on them, they came from my grandpas farm and I know between cousins and I we cut a lot of grass with them back then.

Whoops forgot the quote from @WickedFog post 🤣
Yup!
I have a 1978 446 (big wheel). Bought it in '98 and it looked 2 years old, not 20.
I use it year round, still has snowblower and cab on it right now.
Took this last spring at changeover time - 47 years old now!

Looks great. With most things that old, it's simply not the case. 🤣🫠🙃

The problem is it hurts the lower income folks more, unfortunately.🤣
I think one thing people need to wrap their heads around is not the tariffs, or Trump, that are hurting us. It's all the bad policy that has come before from bad presidents. Nixon, Bush Sr., and Clinton just to name a few. The pain we're feeling is Trump trying to correct the issue of unfair trade policies. Why should we be making the rest of the world richer as we get poorer? Especially China. The Chinese government would gladly put all of our heads on pikes if they thought they could get away with it. You can think of it as being Trump or the tariffs fault, but it's just corrective action and like most correction, it doesn't feel good in the moment.

I agree. The ppl who got rich from these crap deals made in the past should be held directly responsible for fixing the mess that THEY made.
I made no money from these crap deals but I sure am being held responsible for paying for it.
Like you said, why make China rich? Why make Trump or Musk rich either? I will gain nothing from this mess.
Tired of paying for the scam of the week. This is just another one.

If THEY make a mess THEY should pay for it. Its funny how we are a united nation until it comes to money.

This is far from a united nation bro. Everyone has a side they're on.

I'm not against tariffs. I just don't believe a blanket tariffs was the way to go. I understand trying to get more manufacturing back to the US, but that's a very large hill to climb. We just don't have a lot of the infrastructure that they do overseas. For instance, cell phones, those components are manufactured and assembled overseas because the infrastructure is there to build in mass. Now we'll see enormous price hikes for cell phones because they'll be imported from overseas and they fall under the tariff. I personal lying don't buy new phones for ages. But it just hurts the lower income folks where a phone was maybe close to out of reach on cost and now it'll be totally unobtainable.

Tarriff certain goods on the hand is different. Why by apples from another country at a higher price due to tarriff when we have perfectly good orchards and apples here in the US? That would keep money in the country and support our local/national farming

I know it's a stark comparison, but the idea is there.

Cell phones are grossly overpriced anyway. A guy built a brand new Apple phone back in the day for less than a new one, and that even included his flight to China and back, transportation, food, and hotel stay if I remember correctly. That should tell you how iverpriced they are. So I don't see tariffs being any reason they would need to jack up the price enough to filter down to the consumer. If that happens, that is just greed, and has absolutely nothing to do with traiifs. Cell phones are as pricey as they are because there are a lot of dumbasses out there that will pay $1500 for a phone. No offense to any dumbasses here that have paid that much for a phone 😉🤣

They are terribly overpriced I agree. I may get a phone every 6 or so years? I dunno, It's a long time. Definitely wouldn't spend 1K+ for a phone. I would hope that it wouldn't hit the consumer, but I fear it likely will. Companies gotta make up the costs somehow.

That's what I'm saying. I don't think cell phones will be hit. They are already making up that cost, and then some by charging way more than what they got in them. Hard to say.

It will be interesting to see what happens.
This reminds me of when GM was going to fold so we all paid for a bail out so the higher ups could all go on vacations and get their bonuses.
I doubt it will come to that but seeing CEO's give up their 8th yacht is unlikely too.

That's the million/billion dollar question right? Things that make you go hmmm. You have to always, first and foremost, follow the money. Once you get to the end, you'll find a rat.

I usually do 800-1k and make it last 7 or 8 years.

I have never paid more than $250 for a cell phone, and even that pissed me off to do so.

I bought a few cheap ones but they were slow or didn't hold up. Being a copilot for my last job i needed something quick. The Samsung galaxy line I'm on my 3rd. Had an s4 I think. It crashed after so many years. Tge s7 I had for 7 years. This new one I'm on year 2 or 3.

1k is the absolute max ill go and I do shed a tear it's not an arrma or xmaxx.
