I'm going to dual-boot with Ubuntu and I would like to know how to access my Windows files (same HD) from Ubuntu, if possible.

I noticed they are at 9.04 -- didn't 8.10 JUST come out like a month or two ago or am I just that far behind?

Not sure about versions, but I like 9.04. It's a whole new experience but it's definitely faster and simpler than Windows.

I posted this in Ubuntu BTW :D

My biggest complaint is the fonts - Most sites I visits, including RCNT uses a font that I guess just isn't installed on Linux and thus some blurry hard to read font is used. Drives me crazy and is usually enough for me to go back to windows. :-\

Woodie the way the version numbers work in ubunto is year.month. So 9.04 is 2009/04.

I've never noticed a blurry effect. I have a partitioned drive, half windows, half ubuntu and I switch off all the time. The fonts are a little different but not blurry, not that I have noticed anyway.

It wasn't hard to do, I just had to play with it to get the partitions right. I didn't really know what I was doing the first time around so I had 3 different unused partitions on my drive totaling about 5gb lol... But I downloaded a partitioner and fixed it.

I only wish I could remove the timer on the boot screen where I choose which OS. I'll look for some instructions on that...

When you download the live cd ISO file, it allows you to boot Ubuntu right off the CD so you can try it before you install.
