I am wanting to get a "universal" TX, but don't know what I need to do or what I need. I have a Traxxas Jato 3.3 and a Traxxas slash 2wd. I also have an Axial wraith that I would like to put on 1 TX. What TX is recommended and do I need to upgrade all my RX on them. I am running 2.4 on the slash and wraith and have ordered the 2.4 for the Jato. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

personally I use Spektrum radio gear. A cost effective TX is the DX3c- it holds up to 20 models and has many advanced features, channel mixing for both throttle and steering... only $129 new. You can pick up receivers for this all day long. Hope that helps.

That is the one that I am looking at. Do I need to have the Spektrum rx, or can I use my stock rx?

so if i buy the Spektrum, i have to replace my rx for every vehicle i want on the tx? I am a noob to this, so please be gentle!

Yep. Then you bind each receiver to the transmitter. Spektrum 3 channel dsm receivers are pretty cheap on ebay. Usually around $40 or less. If you do go with the dx3c, I think it is only compatible with spektrum dsm receivers. So make sure to not buy dsm2. But you can probably find the manual online to confirm that.
