I have a nitro rc OFNA .15 force engine. It has been sitting in my garage for the past 8 years, and now decided to make it work. New glow plug, igniter and charger and fuel of course. The needles are out of whack, and set them to factory settings. But on the facrory settings it will not start because it seems there is no fuel getting to the engine. I richen it, and it starts but revvs way up and I stop the engine before it over heats and cracks. I keep playing with the needles but have not got it idleing yet. any suggestions?

Every O-ring in the engine needs replaced, and check that all parts are sealed. ie; exhaust and such. The Tank lid seal is probably shot too. That is a long time to sit.

Fuel tank is air tight now, it did have a small leak which could of been the problem. I will try playing with the HSN to get it started today. Hopefully I can tune it to idle today. Thanks for the input!

Well, if it sat that long, if it were mine, I'd completely disassemble the engine and carb and clean/soak everything in DA to remove any varnish or congealed oil before I even tried running it. My guess is that along with dry rotted o-rings, you've got sludge in the needle seats and possibly everywhere in the engine.

That is a very long time to let an engine sit, especially if it wasn't "pickled" properly before storage.

I cleaned the carb right out. Attached pressure hose (from exhaust to carb) and pulled the pull-starter til fuel dropped out. So i know fuel is getting to the engine, just not effieiently, which can be fixed by adjusted by the HSN hopefully.

I should go take your advice and do a complete engine check and soak the parts though. thanks for the advice

It only takes a little bit of gunk to clog a needle either open or closed. I'd at least take the carb completely apart and clean it as well as you can with DA and some q-tips. Especially near the needle seats.
