Nothing that has not been done before, but this will be my first go at a scale build.

My base is a brand new Traxxas TRX4 Sport, and a Jeep Cherokee JK with a 313 mm wheelbase

So far, i have removed the OEM rock sliders and rear bumper.

I started with building the Cherokee shell, was not happy with the way it bolts together, so i used my solder iron to plastic weld the internal seams together.
I bought some small brass hinges, so i could flip the front and tilt the body back, to be able to swap batteries etc, the hinges were to small and flimsy, so a visit to a charity shop, got me a walnut jewellery box for £2.50, the hinges are just over half an inch in width.
Screwed the hinge to the rear chassis brace/bumper mount and onto the rear bumper of the Cherokee.

I had to trim the front inner fenders a little to get the front to drop over them, i have left it tight, so they will help hold the body straight.

I need to figure out a way to mount the front now, i don't want to bold it on, i want something that quick and easy to remove.

It will be a slow process for me to do this build, I'm not working at the moment, so the rc budget has taken a hammering.

Anyway, here is a few pictures i took tonight, It's not much, but it's a start, I'm still waiting on a scale interior being delivered as well as new wheels.

Bad ass. That bumper makes it look angry.

If you have a 3d printer, you can get stl files cheap or free.

Looks sweet already?

I've always been a fan of that Cherokee body. I need to build me one of these, one of these days.

It's a good looking rig. I've been looking at a cherokee hard body as I do like them but I like my wife's raptor and I'm still hunting for a f150 hard body for my sport

Didn't know that was a thing, thanks, just done that.

My friend has a 3d printer, I've no idea about them, is there a website you can view things that can be printed?
Think i will leave the lights and windows out for now, this way i can semi scrape and bash up the body a little.

The front bumper is the TRX4 Sport OEM one, it's only fitted to make sure i can have one with the body, it will be replaced at some point.

I have no set route for this build, ie if i will add any scale items like a roof rack, i will be looking for a more scale tire, i have a few in mind

No paint is picked yet, part of me wants to do a homage to my late dads' recovery business he had up until 1996, Hunters Garage.

I re-visited the rear hinge setup, it seemed a bit flimsy, got it secured better now.

Didn't like the sport front bumper, so i have put the rear on the front, just until i see another metal bumper i like, i will have to add weight to the axles, as it's top-heavy, side hold limit just now is 38 degrees.

Just ordered a Hobbywing Quicrun 1080 for it.

And lastly, i could not find a way to do a hidden front mount system, mainly due to the inner fenders i have fitted, for no it has body post through the bonnet, at some point i will cut the bonnet open, place a brace inside, and mount it that way, i will plastic weld the holes on the bonnet back up.

Last night i started doing templates for the interior, nothing to fancy, just a flat surface to cover the inside of the shell, i have the roof lining done, rear boot (trunk) done and half of the rear floor.

Anything new on this sweet looking ride?

Anything new on this sweet looking ride?
Lots, i just forgot to update the thread, all new electrics, brushless motor, 25kg steering servo, 25kg front and rear servo winches, cantilever rear suspension, new wheels and tires, using the old 1080 for the front winch to get more voltage to it, also hacked my FlySky gt3b to 8 channels, I'm running 6 channels for everything.

I don't have any more pictures at the moment, i lost my mobile phone a few weeks back

@Arbgarry Glad to hear your still at it! :thumbs-up:
It's sat for a few months, pulled it out the other night for a look, i need some new batteries, mine have gone bad, think ill use this excuse to sort a bigger battery mount, just now the batt sits on top of the rock slider (other side from receiver box) this means, I can only fit wee (small) batteries in.
