Hi, I’m trying to choose between a Mojave 4s or a E-Truggy. It’s mostly gona be driven at home, not much on a track, Not for now maybe later on but for now mostly at home on the sandy roads, on the lake were ppl have plowed a track on the ice, at sand banks. Personally I like the truggy but I don’t know if it would be a good rc for my needs?

Sorry for my English.

Welcome to RCTALK.COM!!!
Your english is fine AND you're a MIKE!!!

Are parts for both trucks easy to get where you are?
This would be a major factor for my choice.

A 1/8 scale truggy is always a good pick. A short course truck; trophy truck; desert truck... whatever you want to call a Mojave... I absolutely love the look. Tough choice. I'm not falling for it though... I'm not giving you the correct answer...
truggy... monster truggy... better yet!

I’m personally partial to truggy myself.. I will say that a Truggy can still do short course things, but you’d be hard pressed to get a short course truck to do truggy things.. I just believe the Truggy platform is much more capable over a broader spectrum of possible activities.. Nothing at all against short course, just the way I see it, and sharing my personal preference.. Either way-they’re both an RC, and will be a lot of fun however you decide!

Thank you for your honest answers. I’m leaning towards a truggy. Now my next problem is to choose electric or nitro?

Budget all from $800- $1300
Hey, hey, I know. You should start a "With an $800~$1300 budget, what would you get?" thread. 😆🙌🙌🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Sorry, I couldn't help myself. You may not get it, but the others will. :D

I own both , ide go with the Mojave put some proline tires on it and get some air control for small back yard jumps n stuff trigger is more for open spaces but both are great platforms

For sand, paddle tires are the ultimate tire! Pure chaos!🤣

Have you decided on electric or nitro?
Thats going to determine a lot of 'whats next'

The radio I'm buying next will be the RadioMaster MT12.
Its got more features than I'll ever be able to use (more channels too) and its priced well under similar radios. It needs to be programmed so its not like most radios. If you're looking for more traditional radios, Flysky NB4 and GT5 are popular choices too.

I think electric is gona be my choice, I always thought nitro is faster and was my number 1 choice. But most tracks here and races are electric I think. How about the futaba radio with touchscreen?

If you're racing, head to the track(s) and ask what ppl are running for tires.
There might be other restrictions for motor esc and battery choices too. Better to find out and build the r/c for the class you're racing in.
Electric is prob a good choice for the beach. Nitro is loud. 🤣
