Picked up a spare SCX24 frame from a friend’s “free pile” last Tuesday. Dug through the rest of his free stuff and my spare parts and came up with about 50% of a truck and a transmitter from a V2 SCX24. I haven’t spent any money on it yet, but I know that will change… still gonna see how cheap I can get it running for…

It needs a lot of stuff still, but I feel like I have a good start. I’m planning on using a body from a 1/24 model late 80’s Olds Cutlass…

Needs list: motor and transmission, driveshafts, worm gear sets, axle shafts, wheels and tires, and a battery. Wants list: better shocks, links, motor and servo.

Planning on using the stock ESC/receiver from my Ascent 18 (got the Furitek setup ordered for the Redcat). Tried binding the SCX remote to the Redcat and it worked great, so I can use the Redcat ESC with the SCX remote for this build once the Furitek stuff shows up for the ‘cat. A little bit Frankenstein, but it will work…

That is going to look freakin cool man. I've been waiting to see a car body like this on an SCX24.

Just some info... you really won't find shocks that perform better than the stock air shock from what I have seen. Oil filled shocks on these light trucks are just too much for them. If you add about a pound of weight to the chassis, maybe oil filled shocks would be ok. But they're really only good for the bling factor. And I would just paint up the stock shocks if I were going for bling.

Meet Monster Cutlass!

Paid $10 for some monster truck tires and element axles… gonna take a little bit of fiddling to get it to work, but I love it! Seriously considering doing an 80’s NASCAR paint job…
