Haha ya right. Seems like everyone is doing a brushless e-maxx. Wait theres there next million dollar idea right there duh, new e-maxx with a brushless system already on it.

You know the more I read on this over at the traxxas forum the more I'm geting depressed about the issue. Every one of there vehicles has recived a make over except the E-maxx. I think that if traxxas pulled there head out for one minute and looked at the responces over there that they would see the demand for something new from them not just a old vehicle glorifyed buy some new fancy gray plastic, and new wheels. Huh.:whack:

why an esc or motor? all that hype traxxas had goin for a class thats already fading out.

ugg, lots of not happy traxxas guys on the forum. I am loving the statements "ill keep my nitros, thank you very much" at the traxxas community. and only 3500... ouch. Well, our theory of traxxas havin a BIG BLOCK vehicle coming out is out the door. They bought an engine from us, we had quite some speculation a few months ago :(

I'm surprised they're still molding the bandit. I thought that one died years ago, just like the rest of the 1/10th off road scene.

(after clearing the :wtf: moment from the last sentence....)

I'd be unhappy too with a name like "Velineon". Besides, traxxas can't (or WON'T, your choice) do a decent big block, in my opinion. The LHS that I frequent has seen more 3.3's (which is a Mid-block... as close as traxxas will ever get to a REAL big block) come back with shattered starting shafts, exploded one-ways, and just general problems. Probably user error. Probably not.

Now, as for what's popular.... Yeah, truggies are up there. But so are the production MT's, like the Revo, and yes, the savage. There are even some 10th scale stadiums that show up at the track I run at. It's all in what the LHS's want to push to the newbies. Which, sadly, are the bigger dollar vehicles.

It's not like it was years ago, when the 10th scales were the kings. But, they're by no sense dead.

I myself run the 1/10th scale nitro stadium, as well as the production MT and the 8th scale buggy class. Of the three, I enjoy the 10th scale stadiums' the most. It's the one class where skill really helps you the most.

VoIP.... LMAO....

It should have been a 1/6th scale GAS to compete with the Baja 5B...

Who is "we" and "us"? You talk as if you are in the industry, are you?

Initially I thought maybe you wrote for one of the magazines, but considering your grammar and spelling, that cannot be the case.

You post as if you have some "behind the scene" access, yet there doesn't seem to be any real meat to your posts. Your continued comments as to electric being a class that is "fading out" continues to show your ignorance to the hobby and industry AS A WHOLE!

Additionally, I find it ironic you compare Traxxas to Redcat Racing in an earlier post and when I click on your profile you list as owning them both.

I am by no means an expert here but I personally think that this is a good thing for Traxxas. In my opinion and it is just that my opinion that Traxxas is not cattering to the 5% or so who race. I think they look more towards the entry level, and Hobby crowds, which is the bulk of the hobby consumers. Would it be nice to see a Truggy or buggy from them? Sure, but I think Traxxas has found a niche and a place in the hobby and they are sticking to it. Traxxas may not be the best money can buy, but they are a great company with a great reputation. I can bet that most of us started with a Traxxas vehicle at one point or another. Most of us probably have out grown them as well, but the Traxxas vehicle served its purpose. I still think this sport is all about having fun, and I can tell you I still have fun with my Traxxas trucks, and for me that is just fine. So for traxxas to come out with a BL system, even if it is "small" I think it will be an affordable way for the hobbiest to try one of the newer technologies.

Ok.. I will get off my soap box now.

I think I have out grown all of the other rc's, the only rc I own now is a T-Maxx.

Who is "we" and "us"?

I was wondering the same thing

Godale you are right to a extent. See the way I see things is that traxxas has already realeased these once with a new look, why do it agian so soon. Why not focus on something new like revamping one of there older modles, like the e-maxx or the 1/6 scale to compete with hpi. But I also belive that they are looking at the forums over there and this should be a good feeler to see what the general public likes.

Last time I saw someone talk so much out of their ass was Jim Carrey in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective."

Goodness man, jump on the bandwagon or off, but quit dry-humping it!

LMFAO

This statement made my day.

For the most part Traxxas as of late has been keeping a great balance between what the users want and what the hobby shops need.

My gues is that 80% or more of all RC product sold are to the Once a month warrior who gets an RC thats affordable from their LHS, goes out and has fun with it till it brakes then shelves it. When they get the urge to go run it again, they go to their LHS get the parts and they are up and going again.

The LHS doesn't make a lot on the RC sale but make it on service, parts sales and labor. Traxxas make a fairly simple product that has parts designed to be replaced sooner then later. The Revo is an Exception to this as far as durability hence the re-release of the all time money maker, the T-Maxx. Traxxas has found a great balance to keep both the part time hobbyist and the full time LHS happy. As a company that has found that balance, why in the world would the want to change their plan of action?

Again I find all the "outrage" funny. In the big picture, I think introducing a brushless system is wise. Why? Because in electric vehicles it's all the rage. Everyone seems to want to drop a brushless into their Mini-T's or TC4's or ST's or whatever. With systems from Novak and Castle getting tons of attention, why not do it?
Yeah, we're all idealists in some regard. We think 1/8 or 1/5 is the shnitz so we expect that Traxxas will read our minds and go that route. But as Eddy and Tom alluded, Traxxas ain't about racing. And I think we've known that. Traxxas does a great job catering to the newbie/bashing crowd. And I think this system fits right in. It's not necessarily for people looking for race wins. Nope. It's about being the fastest guy on the block. Or at the local park. They're about bragging rights when you and your buddies get together. So I think they did a decent job of following the industry as a whole, even if it's just a little late.
Although I agree, they should have adapted the system to the E-Maxx, too.

Wow, an esc that is both sensored and sensorless? That is a pretty interesting design, I always thought it was one or the other. I wonder how many amps it can handle.

Ok the rustler would be cool. Now just how much are these suckers goin to be. I hope they keep it around 200$.
