Traxxas V - somethin new coming

Traxxas has a rotating V on their website. From what I've surfaced is that its supposedly a 1/8 scale vehicle... a truggy.

I can only wonder... is traxxas trying to become a quality company?

I just saw this on another site. I'm going to pissed and excited at the same time if its a truggy. If it is a truggy, I'm just starting to start my race revo project and now they come out with a brand ass new design truggy. O well life goes on. I'm hoping there coming out with either a big-block or nitro buggy.

They probably got wind of cabbies creation and thought it would be easily marketable:

oye... traxxas's history is not that great. The only vehicle they have that might be worth getting is the revo.

Everything else, is Redcat Racing quality.

yeah cuz their boats scream high quality when a boater is looking for a new rc.

I just saw somewhere that the secret is to be let out of the box thursday hopefully.

being that 1/10 scale is a dying class, i'm not doubting that its a truggy

I dont think your assessment of the 10th scale market is accurate. For you 10th may not be attractive but its still the largest class of RC on the market and will be for a long time.

A giant V to me (I'm only guessing) would be an updated V-tech.

I'd have to agree. Or the Villain boat is going to make a comeback. Maybe they're going to slap a 3.3 in the Nitro-V. Now that's a boat I'd buy, lol.

Whatever it is, it will be a decent product. Traxxas may not be the best RC out there, but their stuff is good. Hell, it got me into the hobby and my Tmaxx and Emaxx are still going strong. It also got my father into the hobby as well. Whatever the V stands for, it ought to be good.

eddy, you need to take another look next time there is race coverage provided... 1/8 scale offroad is the king. where is 1/10 scale offroad? Its got its little segment in the back of the article.

The ONLY "popular" 1/10 scale out there is touring... but in my recent visits to races here and in arizona, 1/8 has replaced 1/10 in off road racing.

Open an rc magazine... the focus is on 1/8 offroad. 1/10 offroad has become the craftsman truck series, 1/8 has become the nextel cup and busch series. What I mean by that, is most of the big pro names are driving 1/8 scale. You do get to see some big names in the gas truck class, but nowhere near as many in truggy and nitro buggy. Why? cuz their sponsors have their focus on the 1/8 scale vehicles. They can only register for 2 different classes, and majority are talking 1/8 truggy, 1/8 buggy. and why not? get paid more because its a bigger market.

I tried to post early but something was up. 1/10th is about as dead here as elecrtic is. The turn outs at any big events here are slim to none and at our club races we have yet to have any entries at all. Even production monster truck is way down from just last year alone. I'm curious though, what's ViOP in the title have to do with the thread?

voIP is the rumored name.

as far as 1/10 scale goes here... it is dead. you see 1/10 racing ONLY at our RC X games.

I've also heard rumors of it being another updated boat. Wow wouldn't that be difficult... strap a water cooling head on a 2.5 or 3.3 and put it in a boat. Lots of R&D there lol

The 1/10 ST Class is still very popular. Team Associated and Losi are the top contenders in that class. With Team Associated releasing the the GT2 I do not see how the 1/10 is gone?

With all the races the ST class is very common to see at the races.

Jet..
Really? I know that you are racing competitively, but the races that are promoted I see at Hemet, SoCal raceway, Revelations and crystal park..they all have had 1/10th ST Gas?? Is it just a coincidence?

hey now, I tried telling you this years ago about your Maxx and ya argued till ya were blue in the face..lol

at the time of the GT2 release, ae had no 1/8 buggy on the market (was still in R&D).

The ONLY 2 companies that are in the ST class are losi and AE. If stadium truck truly was as popular as you and eddy have stated, we'd see all sorts of other stadium trucks competing on the same level. No mugen, no kyosho, no jammin, no ofna, no xray. Stadim trucks are something that are pretty much raced in the USA. You dont see any ifmar races for them, and you certainly do not see much 1/10 nitro truck activity anywhere else in the world.

NV, i know i know i know. I was blind at the time. that maxx is officially the shelf queen. My VTX ST1 replaced it. I got sick of predicting what would break every time i jumped the maxx, it no longer became a challenge.

Well actually mugen has a st, traxxas has a st, and kyosho has a st. So.....yes the ST class is still alive and kicking. It may not be as popular as it once was, but it is still around and still very popular.

but they do not have anyone paid to race them.

you are missing the point here. Mugen's st isn't on the market much anymore. Kyosho's truck is pretty much a thing of the past, and all of traxxas's stadiums are bashers.

if manufacturers wanted them to be popular again, they'd have their top notch drivers racing them instead of just buggy and truggy.
