Looking to upgrade front shock springs on my traxxas sledge a bit stiffer. Rear shocks are fine, but the fronts i have to adjust preload all the way for front end to sit level. What springs do u guys recommend to stiffen the front up a bit? Not sure what rate springs the truck comes stock?

Sledge springs come in soft, medium, and stiff. Soft front and rear is stock. you might try medium springs on your front. If you go to medium springs you'll have to up your shock fluid by 10wt or the truck will be bouncy. When my Sledge was stock medium springs lasted one drive before I went back to the soft ones. I found them to be too stiff.

My sledge is pretty upgraded and heavy… I have hardly any preload set on the front shocks. I actually removed some preload to make it sit level.

Pull your shocks and make sure your suspension is moving freely. Sounds like you have bent hinge pins, dirty ball ends, etc. Something is binding if you have to adjust preload on the stock springs all the way down just to keep it level.

Twice I've had my stock pistons swell and seize up in my shocks. One of the symptoms was low ride height. The shock would compress then stay that way. I run M2C pistons now.

Sledge shocks are Hyper sensitive to bent shock shafts. A small bend will cause a Sledge shock to bind.
As far as the rest of the truck is concerned it will run smoothly in any condition other than broken. The Sledge is a tough truck.

Interesting, and thanks for the advice. Will take a good look at the suspension to see if anything is binding. I literally have the shock preload collar adjusted to the max just for the front end to sit level

What exactly is "level" for you? For my off-road RCs, I always start with arms/bones (driveshafts) level.
