Traxxas not going to a big block is a mistake IMO. I for one will not be ditching my T-Maxx for another truck running the same mill and roughly the same size.

hmmm....you do have a point. This thing is bad as heck but they just put a new cylinder head on it and added an R. But it still looks nice.

I agree, I personally don't get it. I would imagine the only people that will buy it are people that don't own a MT or people that have to have every RC that comes onto the market.

Unless traxxas puts out a BB Maxx I wont even blink....

They should have called it the Re-Maxx LOL

Looks like they missed the boat yet again. It's still just a 2.5 1:10 scale, wheres the big block 1:8 scale everyone wants now. Another bad move by Traxxas imo :wtf:

I was intrigued by the suspension setup. That was kind of innovative, though I don't know how adjustable it really is. The Achilies heel looks like the tie rod for the shocks that run diagonal from the lower arm to the cantilever. Looks vulnerable.

The electrinic shifter thing, well, just something else to get wet and burn up.

The big improvement looked like the drive shafts.

And what was it they said about the roational mass of other MT's tranny's with reverse? Bulky and unneeded parts or something. Hell, when the Savage is in forward, the reverse module doesn't do much in that regard.

what would have made the Revo alot more interesting would have been say a 25% increase in size, with a Hyper 21 8 port or Picco .26. Now that would be badass. Well, ditch the electronic shifter, put some real underbody protection on it, metal CVD's, and maybe move the shock connecting rod behind the arms. Then it would be basass.

Who knows, the concepts may be proven and we'll see more F-1 suspension setups in out 1/8th buggies soon.

I was just @ the LHS a while ago and we where checking it out on the site.

My thought of hand....It looks pretty bad ass but it still has the 2.5 (Great power when it's running right but can be a tuning nightmare). Traxxass should have a new desinged engine for this truck.

The jury is still out on this one. Might be for a while. Definately different, and different can good or bad.

Things I like: the chassis (design shows strength in all planes)
sealed diffs that allow different oil choices
traxxas' attempt at something different

Things I didn't like: same 2.5 engine
weak looking arms
electronic package (difficult to work on)

Things Traxxas hopes to see: aftermarket support or this baby might be OVER (REVO) !

I think that the electronic tranny is awesome, there is a lot of new technology on this truck for sure.

i want one, that thing looks sweet, how could you guys be dissing something that is not even on the market, you guys may like it. GIVE IT A CHANCE! :radio:

I bet there was someone that said that about the yugo too. Just observations based on experience. Yes, it looks innovative. It also looks like some things were over thought a bit. Time will tell, then folks can look this thread up in the archive and say "so and so was dead nutz on", or " those guys had no clue". Time will tell, but if it were up to me, I'd have done a couple things different on the design.

I'm up in the air about it.

I like some of the user-friendly features like the RX pack and charge jack, but I dont know how that suspension would hold up over some heavy bashing. It IS a very different design for sure. I was disappointed to see that tthe TRX 2.5 was used again. Traxxas seems to think it's god's gift to R/C. I can't see how a .21 conversion could be made or any .21 wedged into it, so they may have shot themselves in the foot on the engine. I like my 21 and 25 very much and there is no going back to small blocks.

We will see fer sher.

looks inovative. I like some of it to be honest. The one thing that would make it not an option on MY buy list is the the balancing incorporates the Ez-start, while good for the newbies it's bad for me. Engine at an angle? Dunno what to think there hmmm they must have tested it is all I can say. We will see how it does. Nice to see they are at least thinking of new things instead of riding the tmaxx till the wheels fell off.

Hmmm, Still a weak chassis design as far as I am concerned and a weak engine. I mean guys are looking for a minium of a 21 these days. If they want to make a winning design why don' they redesign the Maxx properly. You souldn't need a damn conversion kit and stronger arms to make the truck stronger it should be strong out ouf the box and should have an ample amount of power not this 2.5 nonsense. Just my opinon. I will not be giving up my savage for this any time soon. Traxxass

i read about it

pluses

inboard shocks
bump start capable
bigger driveshafts
lovin the wheels/tires
dual steering servos with skids
sealed diffs
fuel tank has a pull tab (paying attention here)
beefy turnbuckles

minuses

same 2.5. putting the R on it doesn't do anything - stickers dont make it go faster
fuel tank is vunerable, even with the skid
weak front/rear skids
weak a-arms
cramped design
seems the 'handle' gets in the way of the high speed needle

it weighs 9.5 pounds without fuel. huh? thats waaay heavy. id be removing the bumpers, reverse and servo, ez-start and replacing the standard servos with high speed servos. good home for a RB 15.

but still who would buy one? most people i see who come in to the LHS want a real big LOUD truck. that almost defines the .21+ trucks. no .15 will do, thank you.

hey i just realized that picco .21 will fit on there id think. hmm. sounds like fun then.

Well after looking at it again... it certainly incorporates a bunch of design changes. Like others have stated time will tell. I am interested in seeing how the shock system will work.

sLY

revo

wont touch it,untill it says big block 8 scale.

uhhh, they already did that.

Guys check out the vids of it to see how nice the suspension is. Everything on the truck is a work of art.

The did do some things to boost the 2.5's performance. New exhaust ports were ported and the head, tank, pipe mix will definetly increase it's performace. WHy does everybody hate on the 2.5 n e way? It can keep up with most big blocks.
