Does this mean they're gonna quit making the T-Maxx? Mine is not yet a year old, I would hate to have the old model already.

Nah, the traxxas ppl said the t-maxx will remain in production. The truck was not meant to take over the T, just add another car to their line up.

looking on the web-site traxxas says adjusting the ride hight is done by changing shock cams...you can raise or lower the truck drastically without changing your shocks settings, and they claim with largest cam it gives the truck 120mm of throw. so far the only thing on the truck that I'm interested in is the suspension setup. that electronic tranny seems like a gimmic many seasoned r/c'ers will yank out after there first run. and the fuel tank looks like itll be ripped off after one good hard landing and bottoming out. on top of that hopefully traxxas used a new formula for there plastic..as the stuff the maxx was made of was rather weak. of course with any product it has to be here and abused by us before we can make any assumptions. ill leave it to you guys to give me the news haha.

wonder how long before they revise all the trucks with that new motor

they did it when the 2.5 first came out. all their vehicles had the trx15 then tmaxx got a 2.5 then all the trucks/cars in their lineup

What do you mean?? You think this truck is competition for the LST and the Genesis??HHmm...granted..I am not as knowledgeable as most of you guys are...but I would not put the LST and Genesis in the shade of this truck.....

Shocks look awesome, I agree with pretty much everyone that the same engine was a bad idea. I really want to see a big block monster truck from Traxxas, I guess they didn't think about surveying the public on the matter .

As soon as all of the after market parts are released we can build a better one from scratch.

 traxxas set the benchmark with the t maxx, and now it seems they r following. They r trying to make a racer, and the design looks ok, but not set up for racing out of the box. i'll for go talking about the motor thing we all know about that. I think they missed the mark on this one, who wants a small block truggy, unless they r testing the market.

If you look at the chassis picture, it is very strong. Actually formed instead of bent. That will be a very strong chassis.

personally i dont like CEN, The LST will beat the hell out of the REVO. The REVO has a cool look to it, It looks like its gonna be world war 4 to take it apart. What Traxxas needs to do is make a 1/8 high end buggy or a 1/8 scale .21 monster truck. Agreed?

doesn't look too hard to me. I think traxxas designed it so it wouldnt be too hard to take it apart, hence the body clip electronic boxes etc.

that truck looks pretty bad ass but like 30% said he was at the lhs wit me and we both agreed that traxxas realy needs a trx.25 not 2.5 but .25, it would be realy cool if they made a .25 that looked almost exactly like their 2.5. butt as everyone said traxxas needs a phuckin bb truck!! dang what are they tryin to do with the small blck thing, get a freakin clue even the seasoned rc vets like most of us on this site want a bigger engine. i wish there was a traxxas representitive on this site, like schuamacher that guy came on and stuck up for his product. if we could give our in put to traxxas and know some one was readin it that would be cool. any ways i just had to vent, but i geuss it will be a cool truck, i got 10 for my shop on order already, so we'll see. personaly I'm a traxxas fan so any thing traxxas I'm some what fond of, but they need an 1/8 scale bb monster truck so bad its not even funny, I'm actualy gettin kinda pissed at traxxas cause this.

Read this thread about the big block issue, http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?threadid=224305

Basically, they didnt put a big block in so they could keep the truck small and nimble, light weight, and when ur car is only 7lbs u dont need a big block! The 2.5 propels the T to 45mph so i think its plenty of power. If you dont think it has enough low end grunt, then get a 18tooth clutch bell and ur set. The 2.5 dominates all RTR engines, thats y all the other companies made big blocks to try and compete. But now with their huge heavy trucks, they r still getting wamped on the track.

Mayb i'm suporting the REVO too much based on that I've only seen pics of it(and read quite alot). When it finally comes out then we can actually start saying things.

What everyone is forgetting in this debate is the fact that the T-Maxx and Revo are different scale trucks. They are not 1/8 scale but a larger 1/10 scale. That is why they can get away with a SB engine. The truck is just plain smaller. They should've made it true 1/8 scale.

Huge and heavy. You left out durable. Just like a true monster truck should be.

Rough translation: If you can't beat the snot out of it without it breaking every other jump or so, it's a POS no matter how new, flashy, or trick it is.

well said error401. well said.

IF traxxas wanted a t-maxx replacement, they should have gone with a trx bigblock in a different truck (not revo, not t-maxx). The Revo design should have gone into a stadium truck. with the trx2.5 engine (type R for those who think stickers increase performance) the main reason the revo isnt quite good enought for an MT truck is because it doenst have enough protection to vitals, they went for a racing MT, and people, buggys and STs race, monster trucks are supposed to be able to go through hell and come out in 2nd gear. traxxas screwed up when they didnt put a 1/8 BB rock of a truck on the market.

thats how i would have run the traxxas corp. in the past 3 years.

Thanks.

I said it before, and others have too. If traxxas had made it a little larger, put a BB mill in it, put some metal in the CVD, and canned the funky reverse electronic POS, it probably would give the Savage a run for the market. I like the suspension theory (some of the finer design aspects, well, could have been better). But, now it fits in between two race classes. Is it a big ST (like a larger version of the HPI Nitro RS4 MT), or a runt of a true MT (like the Savage and T-Maxx). What class would they race in? Both? it wold have been nice if traxxas had put a Hyper 21 8P in it out of the box, or at least designed the chassis to accept it. IMO, the asking price is a bit steep for what comes out of the box.

While Traxxas had a huge hit with the Maxx, they seem content to stick with the segment of RCers who supported their products in the past. This is a bit short sighted. Most of those people may want something bigger and more durable. The Maxx still has legs and if they had put out a true 1/8th truck with at least a .21 or preferably a .26 with durable parts, they most likely would have another hit. After that they could have introduced the Revo as a Maxx replacement next year or so.

My money for a new truck this year will not be going Traxxas' way. If Losi got it right, my money will be going toward a LST.

the revo is 9.4lbs:loser:

according to rcca the 2.5 makes about 1.33hp
the LST is 13lbs and has an engine with a claimed 2.7hp

Thats double the hp and probably more than double the torque in a truck that is only 3.6 pounds heavier. Also it looks like it can be made a lot lighter with some maxx size tires. then it would really kick-ass:thumbsup:
