It depends bud. It's kinda like in 1:1 scale Power to weight ratio is part of the bigger picture. I.E, More Power and Less weight is better.

Not sure about the motor tho......... try asking "sweetdiesel" he seems to know plenty about brushless setups. Not sure he'd know about a revo conversion tho, but no harm in asking.
 
I think that the 2200kv should handle it quite well. Check this guy out with his [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWa-gLtIO64"]Revo 3.3 conversion[/ame] into a brushless electric.
Now as far as what kind of pinion, spur and other gears this guy was using, I have no idea but they had to be stout.

Wow, I just looked up the price for that set up. The Combo is only $169.99 from Tower. I would have suggested the Castle Creations Monster Mamba too but big difference in price for sure.

The $170 pricing is for the motor only, and does not include the ESC.

Bang for your buck I would run the Mamba Monster Max 2200Kv system on 4-5S lipo.
 
I've seen lipos made with as many as 12 cells in series. If the teknokit conversion allows for dual packs, I would run 2 2S lipos in series for better weight distribution, rather than a single 4S pack. If you decide you'd like to run 5s, I would run 2 5S packs in parallel.

The advantage with running higher voltage is the ESC sees a lower amp load, which allows it and your packs to run cooler. You'll need to ensure your motor can handle the higher voltage. In a normal 1/8 scale application, the motor runs coolest when it is turning 40K or less rpms. Some motors can turn higher rpms for short durations, but the key is to monitor your motor temps and try to keep the motor below 140 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent demagnetization.
 
I wouldn't call it rocket science. All the homework has already been done, just need to search for it. :D
