Absolutely true, here too. I went through the Tamaya Grasshopper phase, then went back to airplanes. One day I went to my local hobby shop for airplane parts and heard a Tmaxx shift, then stop and back up. I bought one, and here I am, thanks to Traxxas getting me interested.
 
Traxxas usually does a great job of getting the basic vehicle out to allow the hobbyist to customize it. I'll be surprised if someone doesn't start offering Monster Jam specific hop-ups.
 
If they are going to something a special edition...then make it special. It looks like the same crap with a body that the kids will reconize. Then again I got hooked because of a cheap Tamiya. the plastic was so hard if you looked at it wrong it would snap. Every Hobby needs the same thing... people that want to do it. if these cheap attempts at a RC get a kid interested.........
