Hey guys, I'm having an issue with this Slayer Pro 3.3 as in I can't get it to hook up. I bought it off ebay and the motor is an absolute terror. The truck just lights up the tires and is completely uncontrollable. The tires are stock but in great condition still. At first I had a rolling issue so I stuck sway bars on it, I softened the suspension hoping I could get it to handle instead of spinning out and today I took it to the dirt for the first time and that lasted about 5 min before I just packed up and left. It reminds me of my old 3.3 Jato in the dirt except 4wd. I have had ALOT of 3.3 motors and by far this one kills them all as far as power, it seems like its too much for this truck. I swear the previous owner must of had this engine modded. I am used to the MT class and this is my first SC class truck, can someone guide me in the right direction on getting this thing to hook up?

You should pop off the backplate and see if any visible mods have been done just for chets and geggles, theres a turbo button mod out there too, a modded 3.3 runs with an os .21 tm all day, problem with tje 3.3 is the conrod

I have a hard time keeping my slayer pro in a straight line , it just lights the tires even on the road, half the problems seems to be the tires maybe switching over to a 12mm hex and changing wheels is the answer

I was thinking about that but going in the other direction of 17 mm wheels. I richened it up a little and brought the temps down from the 260 range down to 240 range and that does help a little.

Handling wise i switched to 45wt oil using the variable dampening kit still using the stock springs with slayer sway bars too , revo ones are thicker .

I think I got it down yesterday after softening the suspension and just learning how to drive it. I am used to my Revo which handles flawlessly and is very easy to drive fast and controllably. Once I found some tacky dirt yesterday, the Slayer handled great and is just a really quick truck so you need a lot more throttle control. Keeping the speed up and keeping it in second gear makes it a lot easier to drive. I just got some Proline Badlands and will get them installed, it should help a ton with the traction issue too!
