Looking for recommendations on a transmitter case. I'm currently using the Spektrum iXSR, I don't think the case it came with will last and I would like something that will provide more protection. I'm currently looking at the ProTek cases but wanted to check with the community before I make any purchases.

You could do the Pro-Tek one and get the pick and pluck variant for the foam or you could get this one right here. The case intended for the DX6R and Spektrum transmitters with a similar design. https://www.amainhobbies.com/spektrum-rc-dx6r-transmitter-case-spm6719/p531186 I looked at it too for mine after get my new model iXSR but i'll give the original case packaging a chance first.

I'm leaning towards the pick & pluck unit due to the fact I can customize it for other things I want in the case. The original one is ok, I'm just worried about it over the long term.

Sounds like you got a plan if i could i would get a big Spektrum case and make something like this for it if i had a large 3d printer.

First i got to get my radio and then a case for it, And maybe find someone who would be kind enough to lend their 3d printer to print a beast of an insert like what Raz has. he mostly configured his to fit a Futaba 7PX (The original one not the R version) it also fits with the range booster\amplifier on his radio i had an idea to maybe put a range booster\amplifier on my soon to be new iXSR or my DX6C.
