We just placed an order for a Flashforge Aventurer 5M Pro. Picked up an extra spool of PLA, should all be here on Monday. Excited to learn something new. Been watching TinkerCAD vids, and already have a bunch of stuff downloaded to print. Been wanting one for a long time but just couldn't justify it. But lately, two tools I've needed that are 3D printed are almost $100.

We are going to use this for our business as well, and start offering printing service (we print everything else after all) for others once I get the hang of it. Just send us your file, we'll print it, and you can pick it up within 24-72hrs depending on size.

I'll be happy to help ya if you need any tips or tricks with the slicer settings or anything. I'm sure you'll get it figured out though. What slicer will you be using?

Thank you. We will see how it goes. I'll be using Orca slicer.

Haven't tried that one yet. But I just looked at it earlier, and it looks nice. And it's open source, so it should keep getting better.

I'm gonna set mine up in LAN only mode for various reasons. Also, spent some time on my lunch break and designed my first thing. Granted it's super basic, but it's a start. It's a set of MTB crank gap fillers for a friends e-bike. TinkerCAD isn't too hard for basic stuff, even for an old dog like me. Biggest thing was a tutorial on layering to smooth out the edges of cylindrical shapes. Now just waiting on dimensions from him, and you know, a printer. LOL

Dude... get this bro

i will happily help you through it. And check this series out and follow along with the 3 videos. It is an older version of the software he is using, but you should be able to manage. It is awesome software, and it's free.

And I didn't realize the Flash Forge is using Klipper. That's awesome sauce!

Elegoo's does too, and I suspect Bambu's is a similar board/firmware.

@majin - ya might look at this printer too brah.

I love my printer! I have a Qidi X-Plus 3. I need to learn how to use tinkercad or something to make things. I'm good at finding free files now is about it lol but I do find plenty of good ones. I use Orca Slicer also. My intent when getting this printer was to make stuff for sale...I now have a house full of various toys that my son and I have to keep out of sight of his momma! 🤣 She said I am banned from making him any more toys!

I wish Lars would do an updated beginner tutorial on Fusion. The software has changed since he posted that series. So if you go through that tutorial and run into any probs finding something, shoot me a text, and I can show you what you're looking for. My number is in our contact info sticky. You'd probably get a kick out of playing with the software, making gun stuff.

Fog got me the link for the personal use version. I got it on my laptop a few weeks ago & watched some vids & made my own design for a dual fan mount. I also have the Autodesk Fusion360 book tutorial, Guide for Beginners I bought last year.

I just rewatched the first two tutorials and was wondering how different the latest software is. Trying to get myself motivated to get mine running.
I will go through the tutorial series again tomorrow if I am up for it, and try to note the differences. Another guy recently went through it and said he noticed changes, but was able to follow along OK.
