I sold my trusty CR-10 Smart Pro yesterday with visions of Bambu dancing in my head. While trying to decide between the A1 or the P1S, I stumbled upon the Elegoo Centauri Carbon. Seems as though it is a direct competitor of the Bambu X1C for a third of the price ($300 vs $999). The Youtubers and Reddit posts have practically sold me on it by now so I just figured I would look for some more real-world experience with the device before I pull the trigger.

Seems like it did have some initial bugs/quirks, which Elegoo has worked to resolve quickly over the past couple months since its release. They're also set to release an AMS system for it by the end of the year.

I don't have any experience with the centauri but I have a Neptune 4 pro and it is excellent. I think I paid a little over $200 and it's performed extremely well for my needs. Mostly I print functional items for RC cars. I print spaceships, fidget spinners and other stuff for my kid and it does those well too.

I use the bambu A1. I think the bambu stuff is a little overpriced but out of the box it prints very well and was a great beginner printer. I like the slicing software. I have printed with material they say it can’t print like nylon and abs.
AMS is a must, I never thought I would need it either.
If I ever get another I would like to try something else that compares to a P1S that doesn’t carry the same price tag.

I'm impressed. I'm new to printing myself, but it's fast and clean from the parts I've seen before.

i think they are working on a multispool system
Yep, it'll be released next month according to Elegoo. The most recent version of the printer being shipped comes ready to go for the new AMS system (port in the back for connectivity).

Don't forget to print some upgrades for it!

In addition to the poop catcher and side-mounted glass holder, I've added a vented riser, side-mounted
tool caddy, and spool guard to protect the side of the printer from being scratched by the filament spool.

Here's mine as she sits now while printing a temp tower. I'm trying to lock down my settings for PETG.

I see you have the filament coming off the front of the roll. I had mine first setup like that but in the manual it has it coming off the back. Not sure if it makes a difference.

I made the glass holder and the poop can. Working on the scraper now. I didn't look for any other upgrades yet. But will.

I didn’t like the angle of the turn it was forced to make before entering through the back of the case when coming off the backside of the spool. I flipped it around this way to smooth the filament’s path and it’s working just fine for me.
