Toggle switch replacement

The power toggle switch has broken an I’m not sure which I need to replace it with please. The broken one says 6A 125v on on AC on it. I think it’s American cause I can only find them from the USA can I replace it with any other toggle switch that’s more available please ? An does it matter if it doesn’t match exactly the 6A 125v written on the broken one. I’ve included a picture of the broken one. I just need to know do I have to swop like for like or is there an alternative please ? Thanks

what is it from?

I would think you are safe to use a similar sized switch. The 125v / 6A markings are maximums when using the switch in a household application with line current.

It’s from a fishing bait boat it’s just the power switch. Just didn’t know if it had to be the same or not an if you could use one with two or three prongs underneath it. Thanks for the advice.

The broken switch is a 3-position switch - centre is off, move switch to one side to energize one side, and move switch to other side to energize the other side. The switch only uses 2 contacts and is used as a 2-position. You can replace with a 2 or 3 position switch. If you replace with a 3-position switch, just use the centre contact on one of the others - leaving one side contact empty.

Being a boat, I would look for a waterproof switch.
