I read the article but my onyx dosnt have a discharge option. What else could I do to disc hatch them. Pita as I have six of them.

I personally didnt care where the charge was. Lipos are another story lol.

I've always storage mine NiMH's charged. I try and cycle them about once every 6-12 months if theyre not in use.. I dont believe discharging them and then storing them is a good idea because I've lost a couple of packs by occasionally leaving a pack turned on overnight in a kit. That being said when I talked to the guys over at onlybatterypacks.com about some various charging and mah measuring questions I had they said that NiMH packs are the most abusable cells out there and you can run em dry and cycle them a few times to bring them back to life. While I have done that several times like i mentioned I have lost a couple packs due to over-discharge. One pack was old so I thought, well it was old anyway so thats probably why I can't revive it but the second time I lost a fairly new pack doing that. My persoanl opinion would be to store them charged and Id say most manufactures expect people to keep them stored charged for the simple fact that a lot of manufacturers are coming out with the low self discharge cells.

Thanks guys. That's helped a lot, takes a lot of guess work out of the equation. It's nice to have found a rc nitro forum with people that actually like to help and not criticize others questions. Hey that how we learn. Thanks again fellow rc enthusiasts.
