I guess since Horizon Hobbies owns everything now its no surprise were starting to see brand cross overs. I guess HH is trying to make the Typhon a race worthy buggy since Arrma is such a big brand now?

Is there something different than what you posted Gw?
I've seen these for a couple of years now but I'm wondering if this is a upgrade.

I'll hang onto my money til they start outrunning Losi, Tekno, Kyosho, and Associated 😉 I doubt it's going to be as competitive.

And it looks like they know that. This thing uses Losi shocks 🤔

IDK, Just got an email saying it was a new product release and that was what was in the email.

Kinda had the same thought about it being competitive.

So, they put the electronics nobody wanted, in a car that nobody wanted...
Yeah but its got those sweet TLR aluminum parts on it so that makes it desirable 🤣

Well, it says it was tuned by TLR too. I wonder if that means after they designed and made one, TLR put their shocks on and adjusted the spring pre-load 🤪

Arrma should stick to bashers. If I was at all interested in racing, I wouldn't be using my RC for bashing too. So this is kind of a confusing RC.

Agree with Kevin. This offering is confusing. Like has often been said, "If it doens't make sense, there's a buck in it."

It's been my general experience that a RC racing platform does not perform well as a basher-too light. And, conversely, a RC basher platform does not perform well as a racer-too heavy. Crossovers, as this offering seems to be, under perform in both categories.

What is even more confusing is that ARRMA practically owns most of the basher market. Ninety-five percent of RCers bash. Five percent race. Where is the benefit to doing this? Seems to not offer an incentive to buy to either group.

[Sigh]. Guess just wait and see how this plays out. Me thinks a tough nut to crack for TLR / ARRMA. Perhaps this offering is meant to appeal to the part-time racer doing a handful of local events seasonally. Perhaps not so much so for the dedicated regional or national racer. My two cents. 'AC'

Thinking this release through a bit further. In a perfect world, this would be an ideal candidate for a 1/8 Ebug entry level spec class. A way for racers making the transition from 1/10 to 1/8 - as so often happens in the natural order of RC things.

Price point is great. Brainstorming this further, were such a class to exist and be supportable at the local level, I'd buy two of these. One to race and one for spares. Even then, they'd both be coming in a price point less than what it takes to field a single State-of-the-Art 1/8 Ebug slider or roller. And this is ARTR to boot.

One thing I think manu's can help progress RC racing is through establishing and sponsoring a local entry level class such as this 1/8 bug fits. Be a great way to groom drivers, mech's and pit teams for the 'big show.' 'AC'
