Thanks, could have done a better job but was in a rush to get it done.

10+hrs in 90 degree weather will take a toll on you. BTW, I did those at the track. :)

10 hrs to cut the tires, or 10 hrs and then you cut the tires?

I siped the tires on my baby slash with no result. too a razor blade to it about every 1/8".

Each tire takes about 10-15 minutes, but I was in a hurry because the long hot day.

ran stocker, do ok most of the time. have some epic/switch combos. tosses beads on the BL. i just picked up a set of the AE SC10 wheels. installed them on the slash (took the Hexes off). so far so good. looks great. and seems to have better bite. i ll problably need to get a set of adapters for them soon though. just so i dont over tighten the nuts and bind them up.

Used to run Epics/Switch on the VXL Slash. Ultra competitive and never threw a bead.
I was very carefull to mount them properly because the epics weren't as simple as others, despite their claim.
Just run stock on the SC10 and that works great half the time.
Our track does full backflips for traction. One minute its the switch, then the stockies, dependent on water applied and whether the EP 1/8ths are racing....

Took the dremel to my stock Traxxas Slash tires because my track is very slick (hard packed and light dust) so more side bite is needed to keep traction in the corners. Most of the racers in the pro spec class are cutting their tires, which is allowed at the track under pro class rules. I must say I was quite surprised and satisfied with the results. I'm running Steve King's setup, and I must say I was quite impressed with the difference. Before you guys throw them away, give this a shot.

Overall it's not difficult to do, but does require a dremel, patience, and a steady hand. More details to come.

great idea and nice work ill give that a try. i dont have a dremel but maby ill take a razor and just cut off a few nobberz to make it more coarse for my sand track

i didnt get to run mine alot before i had to send my esc in for repair, but i ran my slash with a combo of the stock tires & the switch's with some create-a-crawler beadlocks on 3s and i never blew a bead, and i ran a little on all surfaces. .. .

^^^ya but CAC beadlocks are high quality and bad ass and cost alot more than the proline beadlocks, so you get what you pay for.

Marauder's trick is awesome! i did it to the stock rear tires on one slash and am running switches on the other and the stock tires siped are very good! get alot of traction and are a pain now to slide corners! I'm still gonna try some goose bumps i think but prolly do the trick to the fronts for sure.

I just got a brand new set of stockers. Think thats worth trying on them as I only paid $20 for them all

I actually like the stocks on my stock truck. At the race this past weekend I got to see some switch tires, stocks, and proline tires on 1:8 buggy wheels. We ran on pavement. I pushed the truck hard and only wore a quarter of my outer rear. The guy with switch tires seemed to have to slow way down to keep it planted, and the buggy wheels traction rolled easy(but it was a brushless truck)

So again. . . .stocks for me, but it may be on new wheels.

This setup is for Bashing only. I run Losi Desert tires on my Slash. I've cut every over center lug and this increases traction dramaticly!

Epic Beads and Switch tires.......suck...waste of money... bead lock are for rock crawlers....i waste my money on the proline and got dnf and traction roll....to the point where you want to kick you truck....and there add more weight, which make you slower..

Just put the proline sc bowties on stock sc10 wheels the truck hooks up a littel better out of the hole but still can break loose in the straights theses sc10 are alot of fun to drive I have three bat packs through it and the tires show a little wear. But over all I think they will not last to long.

I have to agree. The proline beadlocks are garbage. They threw the bead on my stock slash. I wasn't happy. Ended up junking them. However I really like switch tires on pavement. Not dirt so much though.

I'm running SC8 rims and tires and Proline Moabs (Buggy rims) on my slayer and not exactly happy with either. the SC8 is nice on pavement but slides on packed dirt, and doesn't dig into softer dirt at all...I havn't run the moabs much, but they did ok on packed dirt when I did run them.

I would like to get another set of tires and rims but I have no idea what to get simply for bashing. I'm looking at RC4WD's Toyo MT clones and would really like to try'em but I don't know what to use for rims.

Does anyone know if the stock BFGs off the platinum slash will mount on the proline split six beadlock. I have the wheels coming in the mail but didn't order tires. Guess I assumed the stock tires would work. I only ordered wheels cause I can't stand chrome.
