  1. Crawling
Just ordered full weight set for Axial Calra, added axle extenders and, what the hey!...threw in a brushless motor and esc.
This is all for my son's capra (18 yo). I also have the weight set coming and I already have the other mods installed. I can't let him out crawl me now can I?

man i been looking for the calra for years now!!
I'm jealous lol
hell no you can't let his rig outrun yours!! dads gotta win, can't let the younger generation experience the nepotism of drving dads beast!!!

an update: all the parts arrived! Yea! After a few hours of intense labor I have his Capra seriously weighted...but at what cost?
I should mention that this rig was bought used from a shop and lived with my BF for a year or so before my son bought it. So it is one of THOSE crawlers. No tape or bailng wire but it's seen many rocks. Get everything out and ready to assemble and discovered that both axles are of a brand that does not accommodate the additional weights. Nothing to do but rip my VW crawler apart, pirate the front and rear Capra axles ( and a very nice servo) to install in his Capra. Also installed a brushless system. What I am left with (besides a hurried mess at the workbench) is my VW has no running gear (chassis, motor and links) and a very well equipped Capra that should crawl vertical walls easily. BUT, here is the underlying issue. IF (and I know he out crawls me on different lines a good part of the time) .....if his crawler runs (CRAWLS?) away from me, do I get credit for the car? Or have I lost hours AND parts to his cause?
This dad /son thing is not an easy thing to deal with. Seems like If you don't give it to your kid he will end up taking it anyway. And I could use another job as I need parts now....
Crawling does indeed "free your mind" ,but now I understand that involves freeing your credit card.

If it’s new vehicles I usually have to buy two sets, one for me and one for my son, some times 3 if my wife wants one too. Yes it gets expensive that way. It’s nice having the family participate too though, keep it up!

My son just told me the other day he wants to buy (with his own money) a the green jeep scx30. I said okay, just haven’t made it back to that store…
