Tuesday baby! Oh yeah!
Oh and for the record. I don't have any negative issues with Evolution Hobbies. I just think it was a bad situation because of the supply vs. demand the buggy has goin. Because Paypal sets a time limit to when you can complain a person can kinda get forced into making a formal complaint even if he doesn't 100% feel it's necessary. Especially if you're paranoid like myself because of being screwed in the past. They have good customer service and I will more than likely get my backup and/or hop-up parts from them as well.

it's all about the overtime. i just dropped 200 bills at my LHS today so i could start runnin my TMaxx again. New servos, receiver, fail safe, new fuel lines, yadda yadda. All the good Futaba Digi's are goin in the S3 so electronics are taken care of. just need about $400 or so for a decent engine and pipe.

I'm not sure really. I got two magazine articles and they both use two different setups. I'd go look but they're in the car. I'll get it later.

One articlewas a Vspec, and JP-1 I think. That is what I would get, but I'm kind of partial to OS, and already have a JP-1. If you want to save a little money I also hear that the collari 3 part is nice, and if you drive on big tracks you may like the JP-2 instead. Plenty of other good pipes out there, but the stinger on the JP pipes makes them worth the money to me.

You won't be disapointed. I've never driven a V=Spec, but as you probably have read I have the OS MAX VZB, and I can tell you that it sometimes has too much power, and only run 20%. Cool thing with the V-Spec is that it has carb restrictors that come with it. Between a couple of pipes, and those you should be able to tune it to any track, and your driving style pretty well.
I wonder if you can buy the carb restrictors alone? I think the Max VZB, and the V-Spec have the same carb.

I'll see what happens, it's gonna be a little while before I get the stuff. I just replaced my Tmaxx electronics and just about finished trickin out my mini-t. Next paycheck is a good charger and power source. then the buggy engine and stuff.

My engine was designed and tuned (timed) for the Novarossi 9886 pipe; which is a mid-high pipe. The engine has gobs of low end torque with the mid-high pipe; adding a "low" pipe wouldn't help much because the exhaust wouldn't resonate at the right frequency to push the exhaust back into the engine, and it wouldn't give me much more power on the low end compared to the mid-high I'd lose.
I picked the JP-2 because of this. While the tracks I drive on around here are unfortunately very small, the engine is tuned for a mid-high pipe.
You should find out what pipe style is recommended by your engine manufacturer and try to stick to that type of pipe. If you don't you're only hurting your engine's performance in the long run, IMO.
Engines and pipes are a pretty damned complex topic, but there are some helpful guides to how they work which should help. And remember, some of the guides out there are assuming you do your own porting and such; most of us use unmodified (from the factory) setups.
Considering the trouble a lot of people are having with getting this buggy, what is the parts situation like?
Almost every driver is going to want a few spare parts, not to mention breaking common things like suspension arms and such. If the buggy takes so long to get shipped out to you, do you think the parts are going to be difficult to get?

I sometimes really don't understand the common salesman sence
of some compagnies !
if TTR or SVM Crono or Bergonzoni or swift manufacturers and importers
would do just a little bit of efford
they would sell thousands of kits more
and now they sell 10 in 1 country and another 10 in another country
hundreds of buyers willing to buy
you can't even get hold of them on-line
not to speak of spares..... :arrr:

He's got back-up parts in-stock. Although getting parts won't be as simple as running down the the LHS, I doubt it will be an issue. nobody's running around thinking there gonna be the first one on the block with a TTR S3 rear suspension arm. The demand is just different... so is the supply. I doubt Ace is putting a cap on how much backup parts a retailer can order. I understand why they do that with the kit. If Ace just filled orders as they come big retailers would be able to order 10 or 15 or whatever and little LHS shops would be lucky to get one... and that's just not fair.

This is my first buggy and my first kit so I'm really lookin forward to it. Directions are really really nice. It's all in color and seems pretty clear. I'm not sure if I'm gonna do a build thread or not. I gotta reorganize my space before I dive into this project.
