I have the above and whilst its engine is running perfect now after break in, and fine tuning, i have developed a problem.

This is my first nitro so i am a bit new to my way around them...

The engine starts, i can rev it and it sounds and smokes normal colour.

After a run just out in the street, drive has now gone...it will rev, but wont go anywhere.

I am guessing clutch, but dont really know what or how to check it?

Could anyone suggest possible problems?

Regards,
Rhys

if the clutch bell spins u know its not the clutch
if the output shaft on the gearbox or slipper shaft spins then u know its not the slipper
if your drive shafts spin before the diffs u know its not ur box
if ur wheels arent spinning its ur diffs.

No the wheels aren't spinning at all, just lots of revs and no go!
Not really sure how to check the above tho??

I will have a look later and let you know. That's the big silver disc with teeth near the engine itself?

it is the cylander with teeth that is connected to the engine that runs the spur gear. if the clutch bell spins when you give it gas then the problem is that your slipper clutch is to loose and needs to be tighter.if it dosen't spin then the clutch that is inside the clutch bell has a broken spring. let us know.

Thank you, very helpful, will try it when i get home from work..
what a bunch of helpful guys here!

The cutch bell does spin when the engine idles and when I give it gas, is that a good thing??

Regards
Rhys

so, so the shaft that comes out of the gear box. does that spin? if it does put it on the table or hold the wheels to give it pressure. iv snapped a pin that holds a gear on once and it moved but just not a lot, and it was giving enough friction to look like nothing was broken when lifting it off the ground. but as soon as the power of the motor and weight of the car came into place it just didnt wanna move

Hi, no the rod doesn't seem to spin either front or back wheels (4wd)

Ok, thank you for the help gents...took to my local rc shop today (where its from)
there was a small stone trapped between a gear tooth, but you couldnt see it as it was obscured by the housing. The guy in the shop released the engine from its mount and freed the gear, found said stone and job done!
Watched him do the whole thing so now feel a little better about stripping that part of the car.

These things are infectious!

Regards,
Rhys
