They completely stopped with nitro but their engines were real quality. Whenever a tamiya engine comes on the Dutch marketplace it gets sold real quick for like twice of what the same engine of another brand would sell.

Believe it or not they still make Nitro Touring kits - They're really expensive but they should be dropping here in a couple of months. The Tamiya TG10 Mk.2, you can also get them on eBay if you don't want to buy from Tamiya direct.

Offroad Tamiya Nitro is long gone unfortunately. I'm unsure on their current engine manufacturer, but they seem top notch from what I've seen from being a youtube goblin.

I was all hyped up for my tt02 build before I got it. but now I really don't wanna do anything with it. Unless I get a new body and put on those aluminum wheels and it's a shelf queen.

Although, @WickedFog , it was a nice build. Gave me something to do during that weekend.

I have a TT02 911 I still haven't built. Got it on black Friday deal from Amain for $115. Too many other RC projects

Believe me, most of them are fairly fragile. Good luck finding parts too.

I tried to curb your enthusiasm as best I could. After building our first one, I had zero desire to build the second one. And I seriously got tited of looking at it sitting under my spray booth workbench.

They could’ve had a good 8th scale off-road racing program with all the money they make off vintage and random scale RCs but they fumbled big time. They had Ryan Lutz as a USA team driver and it went nowhere.

I've always wanted a Clod Buster. I have a 2008 Boomerang. I had an original 1986. Sold it in HS. I also had a Blackfoot during the same time I had the Boomerang. Blackfoot broke all the time until it was a shelf queen. I kept it forever & my kids played with it as a toy, didn't run. I finally threw it away. The Grasshopper is cool.

Road and shelf art is Tamiya's thing. Their road cars are quality and their shelf art is well, odd. They fit the bill and there nich.

Their belt driven road cars are quality - their TT line of stuff is......of a certain quality.

I think they make more money off of on-road cars that don't handle nor drive well out of the box.
