I'm thinking about getting into the 1/10 scale stadium scene. just wanted to know your guys opinions. I'm not going to race it officilly just going to have fun with the buds at our local track. I know nitro rcs quite well so thats not an issue I dont need radio gear. and I'm not even considering a Jato. I watched them consistantly get stomped by a box stock rc10gt. So the real question is between Losi and the Associated.
what do you all think?

I'd go w/ the losi. I have a xxx-nt, and it's a great truck. Very good transmission too. Fast accel, and fast top speed. But if you do get it, be sure to take apart all the suspension and boil all the plastic parts first. I've broken a few arms and stuff on mine untill I boiled it all.

I would go with the rc10gt from associated. They are a very good beginner car, they can go very fast... And there are a ton of upgrade parts for them and it is also easy to find parts for them. I have one myself and love it. Just my 2 cents tho.

I still say xxx-nt, top speed 39.7 mph... The RTR comes w/ a great beginner radio, and if you don't want it, you can always sell it to lower the overall cost. And, it comes w/ a drill-type starter.
I don't race mine, I'm not much into stadium truck racing, I'm more for the faster stuff, MT's and buggies. And, I might be able to sell mine to you since I never use it. If I decide to sell it, I'll let you know more details.

the gt rtr prob goes close to that, and can come pull start or non-pullstart. Most people that are serious with their gts usually put a new motor in it like .18's or even .21's! Hence the members name on here: .21Rc10GT, I'm sure he'll post later. if theres a .18 in a gt, it will prob go about 45. .21 in a gt, and close to 60.

i guess thats a good way to put it, but I havent ever seen a nitro xxx-nt in person so I wouldnt know.

Love my XXX-NT bash it and run it.... Probably race in the fall when the swimming pool business slow down...parts not so much a problem the local LOL's usually have the parts after bashing... so down time is not a problem... don't know anything about the RC10GT... users choice .. Go team LOSI HEY HAAAAAAHHHH

I have a xxx-nt.

Top notch stadium truck.

Both the Losi and the Associated are comparable, both have a pretty decent following of loyal racers/owners.

I would probably suggest picking the one up that you get the best deal on.

I have all 3 mentioned and wouldn't recommend a Duratrax on my worst enemy. If you think you may want to get into racing later down the road, Get a Losi xxx-nt Drake1. The RC10GT is a great bashing truck and is also good for racing with a few good upgrades. Both have good upgrades and hop-ups avail. and you will get great service out of either of them. Both will work with pull start engines, although you will have to put spacers between the engine and mounts on the Losi. The GT has mounts for either engine setup.

I had a Losi xxxnt, and it was not as easy as the RC10 gt to set up for racing. I have own several Losi and Associated Trucks, and race both of them, and man I can tell you the Associated car are far easier to tune. I just bough a Factory GT, and an OS CV-R, should get them this week. If you will be doing any tipe of racing I think GT is easier. my 3 cents.

And another thing, the GT is much, much easier to work on it, just getting the steering servo out of the Losi is an hour job. GT 5 minutes.

i stand tall by my GT! I've driven a few xxx-nts and i really couldnt feel a difference inbetween speed/handling of there xxx-nt and my gt. it pretty much boils down to..

xxx-nt=race ready out of the box but fragile...can be made less fragile with upgrades

gt=bash ready out of the box and with a few well placed upgrades just as good at raceing as a losi truck

I have raced both the GT and the Losi. The GT is a little bit more durable but the losi handle alot better. The GT's have an off throttle push where the losi's don't. Believe I was a hardcore GT racer until someone let me tried thier losi. Well first time out with the losi I TQ'd.

I have an old GT with tub chassis and its fine for bashing but not very good for racing. I'm sure with the new longer chassis, it will perform alot better than my old one does. Losi XXX-NT has plastic parts and are a little more durable than the Drake 1 & 2 that comes with Graphite parts. Graphite is fine as long as you can keep the truck off the tubes at your track. There are plenty of upgrades avail for both AE and Losi, so you wouldn't go wrong with either one. If you are going low budget, go with the GT.
