Just found these amazing carbon fibre mud guards. Unfortunately they’re out of stock :(

These mud guards will be back in stock this week, but you’ll have to fight me for them ;)

I couldn’t resist and got a set of these knock off Backflip 4S wheels and tyres because they come in luminous green. People in FB groups say that they perform very well, and saving £30 at the moment is definitely appreciated!

I've ordered the 9imod BLS-HV51MG 51KG 180 servo. I'm now busy tossing a coin between the Flysky FS-G11P and NB4+ transmitters.

German RC Playground replied to my comment on YouTube saying that he's probably going to fit a Hobbywing Max8 + 2200kv motor in his, so I'm waiting to see if he confirms it'll fit before I order anything.

EDIT: Flysky FS-G11P has been ordered :)
I'm sure it's just a specs/proofreading error on the gears. Maybe not. 🤷‍♂️ It's not the first time I've seen brass used in gears for the hobby. At least a person can get spare gear sets for a lot of those 9imod servos.

I wait for evaluation/testing this servo. 🙋‍♂️

Good catch. If I had seen that, I may have got something different. Oh well, too late now! Let’s see how long it lasts…

I've nearly finished the car, but I've hit a fork in the road.

The Monster Maxx body I chose has a big hump on the bonnet, which conflicts with the stock body posts:

I ordered TKR9598 to move the body posts further apart, but it conflicts with the shock stand offs on the shock tower. It screws down okay, but it isn't flush. Is it a big deal? Probably not.

Tekno support said I should use offset body posts from TKR5791 with the stock MT48 2.0 body mount which will move them a few mm and should clear the hump.

My dilemma is I've read that the Tekno body posts aren't that strong for bashing, so if I use the janky TKR9598 body mount then I could use the Arrma Big Rock body posts (AR320357) which are staunch AF.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: Come to think of it, maybe I could just cut off the part that's conflicting with the shock stand? Not sure what I could use though.

EDIT #2: I might cry. The Arrma Big Rock body posts don't fit through the holes in the Tekno body mounts 😭 Looks like I'll be using TKR5791!

Dremel out a part of the mounts?
Where did you get the tower to tower brace?

Oh ok, he must have sold out really fast...

Yeah he did warn me when they came into stock that quite a few people had it on his “notify me” list so I ordered within minutes of it going into stock. He gets stuff all the time so I’m sure it won’t be long.

Terrible photo but this is how the Max8 G2S and 4278 G2R motor fit in. My sensor cable is currently being bent at 90 degrees :(

I really can’t find a better place for the power button that doesn’t result in it sitting flat on the chassis next to the motor, and I’m worried about water ingress.

looks tite! I wouldn’t worry about water getting into the switch. You should stay out of the water anyways 🤷‍♂️
You could stick the switch on top of the enclosed pinion case.

It’s wet for more than 6 months of the year in the UK. If I didn’t use it when there’s water around, I’d never use it.

It doesn’t reach the pinion case unfortunately. At least not far enough to get it to stick down properly.
