I haven't yet, hoping to this weekend. I'm going to push 8s thru the hpi 2200kv motor first then later I'll try the leopard 1600 on 8s. I'm not going to run 8s thru the Poseidon as one guy blew up an XL2 trying it. Even the guy who sells the said not to. I might try the posideon 1515-2200kv motor cause that can run 8s. I'd also like to look into a 1900 or 2000kv motor and see what would happen.

Initial test on 8s, things went well the first two pulls, the last two went bad. Blew up both rears lol

You blew the wheels right off her...literally!!

How are the bearings holding up? Are you running anything special for bearings? The typical RC bearing aren't meant to be worked that hard. Just curious.

I'm using Acer ceramics and yes its was epic I did blow the wheels right off her HAHA

BTW the rear diff is still filled with the factory grease. However I need to put in the locker as I have stripped the innards. 8s is no joke and I still have more room to gear up and I've got the leopard 1600 still to try hehe

Sick 130 mph run!

Without a locker in the rear I bet the wheel broke off after the tire came off of the other side...All of that power transferring to one wheel was way too much!

Your correct, I'm hoping the locker will help and I may need to raise the punch a little more.

I busted the bevels inside the diff, also found a crack in the tranny case. So I've cleaned up the diff and dropped in the locker and ordered an alloy tranny case. I hope I can tame this beast cause I know its got a lot more left in it

The locker should help. If its physically lighter, that's a huge bonus. Diff's like any gear is one place where you lose lots of efficiency. Getting rid of the spiders, cross pins and grease should in theory lighten it up, allowing faster wheel spin. As it just helps to remove any extra stress on the motor and drivetrain.

I would say that if you add the gears, spring, and grease its a fraction lighter. At this scale and the amount of power through it I may not notice. But I do hope that I stop breaking the hex pins.

Are you using 12mm hexes? If so Vanquish makes some upgraded clamp-on versions that are supposed to fix that problem.

I'm using hot racing 17mm hexs for the blitz up front and Xtreme rc 17mm hex for blitz in the rear
