nice job and well done. I'm amazed just how fast that this is going. Not so much from the electronics and gearing which are capable of even more speed. But just from the overall vehicle design and body choice opens my eyes a lot. Neither were ever meant to run at even close to half that speed...more like maybe a 1/3 at best.
And I think your really on to something. That body was never intended to make down force and it creates drag. The open tires create drag. But somehow you have managed to get a decent balance to it so it doesn't blow over to easily once you get up over 65ish mph. Well except that one time in your vids
And its really cool that your doing this as a learning process and its not a XO-1. I have a 1:1 racing background and have a good working knowledge of how to make things go fast. When I first saw pics of the XO-1, mainly underside pics, It clicked in my head that there was going to be a problem with that flat sealed bottom creating lift at speed should it bounce and get even a small amount of air under it. Watching many YouTube video's later told me my suspicions were dead on. I get a chuckle out of watching some guy destroying a brand new XO-1 from just hitting a pebble in the road. I'm not cruel , buts that's just funny.
Keep at it. I think your going to hit 150 eventually. Though your at that point where even picking up another 1mph at a time is going to get tougher with every little mod or tweak.
I've had the idea of doing similar from time to time. I have the model building and design experience to build something like that. But never have ever considered anything more than 75mph as a max speed. But for me, I live in what used to be the sticks when I moved here 30 years ago. With the growth of the area, there isn't a open patch of road with in an hour at least where I could even think about being able to run something like that. Too much traffic 24/7 who would gladly treat such a vehicle as a target to run over.
