Is the WPL D12 something I could make a working drift build out of?

If you're just looking for something to get started into modifying it's a decent platform with tons of aftermarket but beware it is cheap. The body is the best part and expect to replace everything else. If you want anything competitive, start with something better quality.

Hi, bought a D12 last month and found out they changed the chassis. So if you buy a new one now you cannot use any of the alu chassis of the cheap webshops. Maybe take a look at their D14 drift?

Hey already finished the build,
I did the following to it:
-3d printed drift wheels
-brushless motor
- full metal gearbox+driveshaft
-custom steering assembly I made and 3d printed myself for proper steering angle
-gyro of course
-springs instead of leaf springs in the rear
