Thanks Mike, actually it will work just fine I think. The pontoon isn't for speed, it's actually for trolling and as long as the fish isn't bigger than the pontoon, it should work great. More Crappie than anything else.
One reservoir I fish at takes me about 15 minutes with my kayak to get to a deep hole that always holds Crappie or I can crawl down the rocks which only takes a minute or two to get to it. I took a spill a couple years ago so I don't want to crawl down it anymore.
Above the dam there is a little pull out I can get my truck down to and it's only about 60 yards or so from the deep
hole so it's the perfect place to launch.

Def not worth taking a tumble over!
There's a couple 'town only" beachs here with super shallow sandy bottoms that go out a 100' or so before it gets over head.
Perfect for some RC fun in the sun! No fear for a "swim of shame" to fix a roll over!!!

I'm sure that motor will perform SWIMMINGLY!!! Can't wait for the build now!

Sounds just to me! You have our support!

I did the same thing with my Kaiju EXT. It was on sale and I had enough credit card rewards to cover all of it except $30. That was all the justification I needed lol.

Test drove an old Hilux TRD the other day. 4 ltr supercharged V6.
Yeah no. Not buying that for my kids to drive. Who thought that was a good idea. Thing has no traction in the back end. Too much torque for a Hilux. Fun but dangerous.

This will be my second tacoma, with 2 camry's in between this new one and the last. One of our boys also has a tundra (it's old, but still a beast) and another a Corolla, always have and always will be a toyota fan boy
