Glad to be here, and very much appreciate all the good info! All of my previous cars ran the standard AA 4-packs that came with the Futaba Magnum Jr. and Kraft/KO Propo radios I still have. They did fine, but the Mugen's the biggest ride so far, so I don't want to go cheap on the electrics and sacrifice performance - throttle response is one thing, but keeping those big shaft-driven meats up front pointing where I want will take something stouter than my old junk.

Thanks again, Brutha! We gas-passers gotta stick together!
Anytime fella! If I had to recommend the best “bang for the buck” servo for nitro 1/8 buggy-it’d be this one hands down. LIFETIME gearset warranty as well.

And if you’re serious about it after doing your homework, of course-shoot me a PM, and I’ll send you a 10% off coupon for it as well. I run a few of those exact servo’s, and they’re TREMENDOUS. Also, there’s no sales tax applied as well.. That’s a few discounts really.. 😎

While dismantling the LOSI XXX-SCT, I found some problems. So I had to order more long since discontinued parts for it. I saw a sway bar set, so to make the shipping cost less painful, I grabbed it too.

The shock tower was broken, and luckily there was one on fleabay.

You oughta buy you a damned rabbit’s foot too next! 😅

I still need a damned gear cover. The only one I have found is one on ebay for over $30 shipped. I know, I need it, I should just buy it. It's been there for awhile now. I will bide my time in hopes a better deal pops up before I need it. I asked the seller if they could offer a better deal and they refused to budge, so rather than overpaying, I'll just design my own and 3d print one if I get to that point 😝

I'd say his lucky rabbit's foot is working just fine! Hella score on some Unobtanium Parts!

A far cry from 25 years ago when they wanted $80-ish for my SuperTen's sway bar kit. I couldn't afford that, so I used some spare tie-rod ends, a couple of pillow balls mounted to the rear upper A-arms, and a super-thick piece of metal clothes hanger fed through the rear body post assembly.

Its only piano wire anyway! Good for you! Innovating and MacGuyverating an overpriced guzzonta of unobtainium is the hardest part of vintage R/C sometimes.
Some of the prices are pure nonsense!!! 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I have managed to find 3 hobby shops so far with parts for this truck, and all have been at very reasonable prices. And that Tony's RC has A LOT more stuff, including some great hopups I would like to get. This gear cover is (I hope) the last thing I need. I may just bite the bullet and grab it, but I gotta watch my spending til next month. Being on disability really blows when building a vintage RC 😝

Is that what you need?

Are there any lexan repops?
Not that I can find. I have scoured the US shops. I believe I saw some across the pond, but the shipping would likely be ridiculous. I can design one and print it. It's not that difficult a part to reverse engineer, even without the actual part. I can nail the mounting hole pattern with a photo. The rest just needs to clear the gears inside.

Ok, that other one must be for the original XXX or something. I'll go snap a pick of the motor plate here in a bit, because I think both those hole patterns are wrong.

Guys and gals... I'M SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!!😁😁😁❤️❤️❤️
Bucket list car!!!
A bit dirty and certainly enjoyed by its prior owners so no need to be too worried about giving her a bit of freshening up and giving her a run or 10 before mega-resto and shelf.
Maybe I'll love running too much to shelve her?🤷‍♂️
I LOVE running nitro!!!
My poor neighbors!!! 🤣
This old motor is locked up good... so I'm gonna go get a prybar and start just kidding. 🤣
Gonna start with emptying the radio box, pull the tires and wheels and let the bubble bath begin!!!
Pics reloaded from seller @mame .
THANK YOU!!!❤️❤️❤️

I've seen some of your work... pretty sure you're more than qualified!
I always think of a lexan gear cover before resin. Don't know why really.
Then TBG was my next thought.
I bet you could even do a cool design or alien face or something on it! 😍😎

I simply want to keep the dirt out. This will be driven on a clay/dirt track. It's already going to be walking on eggshells, praying nothing breaks. But I do have some spares. It's just a truck to introduce Breydon to racing, then become a shelf queen. if I can even get him to the track. It's 2wd, which hopefully will challenge him, then when we get him a 4wd Tekno he'll be blowing everybody away because he learned on an outdated sub-par RC. That's the plan anyway. It may just end up being a basher for use in the field outside 🤣

Yeah, well I have to find a way to get him to the track. I do have an old buddy that runs down there, but we haven't talked for a number of years. I was just scrolling through the track's photos and saw him in there. I know if I can get ahold of him he'd take him, if the guy is even still running there.
