Geeze, they have all the webmail address's banned! Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail. What a bunch of uptight people!

LOL I got a 40% warning for that thread...LMFAO..Oh ya baby!
And we just gained a new member from it...

He is haveing a hard time signing up..with his gmail account...

Neither could I. I literally gave up after trying all my spam catchers; no way am I going to give a forum I don't trust my actual email address.

This thread would be better suited had it been named:

"The Traxxas board and this thread is just sad..."

Sorry guys while I share you feelings about not being able to say an R/C's name. I don't share your feelings about going over and causing trouble. It's pretty damn simple if you ask me. Traxxas has site rules and are clearly posted and so does RCNT so what's the difference... there is none. You've got plenty of choices:

1. Live with the rules and deal with it (like you do here).
2. Go find another forum (like maybe RCNT).
3. Create your own site (like I did).

I just don't get it, 99.9% of you guys know exactly how Traxxas runs their forum and what they will and will not allow and some of you that have a problem with the way they run their site still continue to go over there and cause problems. I'm sorry but they're doing the exact samething we would do here...don't believe me try, start poop here and see how long it takes myself or another person from the staff you send you on your vacation.

The point is Traxxas has ALWAYS been this way, it's not going to change regardless how much trouble someone(s) makes, but no matter where you go you're going to have rules and from those rules you're going to have to pick one of the three choices I posted above.

HeartBreak - I'm sorry if you may find this as a personal attack, and it's anything but that however by your comment you've made it clear to me that you haven't read RCNT's site rules... "Geeze, they have all the webmail address's banned! Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail. What a bunch of uptight people!" I (RCNT) have banned those same email services almost since day one...so I guess you could say "RCNT is nothing but a bunch of uptight people".

Well since we're on the subject, maybe everyone should read the site rules just to make sure everyone is up today on them.

I just thought it was nuts that you couldn't even post the HPI Hellfire truck... I understand swearing and bashing traxxas products, but just a reference of another companies vehicle because of how that company named it? Just thought it was a bit far.

Sorry woodie; I didn't mean it in that light. I'm literally straining my brain so it doesn't come out in the wrong way, and that I don't recieve a ban for miswording it (apologies are not my strong suit, so please bear with me).

However, what I meant was that I'm just not used to seeing such a wide spectrum of email address's banned. People like myself aren't out to cause trouble; only to read and learn, and possibly help someone out every once in a while.

It wasn't taken in a "personal attack" light; however, I will refrain from such comments in the future. My apologies.

The people here are not uptight at all; far from it, so I also apologize to everyone here if it came out as such.

I have read the rules, and will abide by every one of them from here-on.

Not accepting free e-mail accounts is common practice for most forums now a day. It helps keep the hit and run spammers from registering and pounding forums with crap. It also to a point helps keeping ban members from just getting a new e-mail account and joining up again under an assumed screen name.

There are several reasons that that this is common practice, I’m sure its unknown to most users but it’s the way we have to do things to help protect our little slice of the world.

As forum admins, we have to ask our users not to raid, attack, or cause any trouble on other forums. We also need to ask that you not post any kind of info in regards to this kind of behavior if for some reason it happens.

I for one think there is a “Spirit” to all rules and Hellfire seems to not match it.
HELLO!?!?!

Olds - You're not reading me right, because I feel the exact same way as everyone else does. I think it's a bit silly to not be able to say another R/Cs name.

Heartbreak - you as well are totally mis-reading what I'm saying. Again I agree with what most all of you are SAYING, what I don't agree with it going over to the Traxxas forum to cause problems - that is what I DON't agree with you guys on. Heartbreak, bud I know what you meant about the banning of email addresses, I don't take it as a personal attack and I don't feel bad about you saying that. I just wanted to bring to light the fact that we too also follow a lot of the rules that Traxxas does as well and emails is one of them. I bring that to light now so you don't bring that up later only to maybe look like you don't know what your talking about when your very own RCNT follows the same. Know what I mean man?

Seriously guys I feel you 100% when it comes to not being able to say "Hellfire" - yes to me it's silly. All I'm saying it I don't agree with going over there and causing trouble. Because all in all the only thing you're doing is putting RCNT in a bad light.

ps. Heartbreak - It breaks my heart (hehe funny) that you'd refrain from making future comments. Man you've totally missed the point of the site and one huge reason why it was created.... So you CAN say what you want to say and yes even HELLFIRE. Please so long as it doesn't break the rules, please post what you feel and how you feel and you better not hold back. Got it? Good!

Ohh by the way... in regards to heartbreaks and FastEddy's post - yes the banning of emails is a security and a sanity measure for the forum. However I have in the past and still do today (probably 2-3 a week) gladly setup accounts here on the forum for users with yahoo, hotmail, etc email accounts.

All those users need to do is email me via the contact link located in the side menu and bottom of every forum page asking for an account to be setup for them.

Just a lil FYI.

No worries woodie; I wasn't going to shut up altogether; lol. I'm just too full of it to know when to quit sometimes. I totally understand now, and will be a good lil' forum addict.

Thank you for creating a place that allows everyone to have the chance to call a truggy what it really is; and not have to call it a Heckfire.

Heckfire.... you should submit that to HPI. :D

Yup I have been using a gmail account for about a year or so.... the whole point is if you are a upstanding member and ask a mod or admin that they use your gmail.. yahoo or whatever email they will be happy to accomadate.... this has to be the most reasonable forum/website i have ever been involved with..... damm i dont even remember the last time i have run an RC... i just like the sexy guys here.....

This is a great forum and was the first I'v joined. I have browsed others and alot of them is very old content or the mod's have a God complex. So here I stay as long as I'm welcome. I guess they never watched the simpsons over at traxxas.

Have you ever run an R/C since you have been here? :D

The second part of that I will not even get in to! But Monkey might help ya out.

Boy, I guess a lot of RCNT members have no idea how and why RCNT was started in the first place. Basically a nice fellow who was on the Traxxas forums several years ago felt just like most of you do now about how the forum is run and decided to start his own. That fellow was WoodiE. So actually you have Traxxas to thank for the existance of this forum. I'm glad I got an inviataion to join here back in the day because we had a lot of good times over the years.
Instead of starting threads and trying to see how fast you can get banned over there, find a few people who you think may be good guys/gals and PM them with an invitation to post here. That is how I found RCNT. To bad the person who invited me no longer posts here. Actually for those of you who know who I am talking about, I haven't talked to him in probably over a year and he hasn't set foot in our LHS for more than 2. I hope he is doing well where ever he is.
