Update to my last post - It looks like I did not have the pilot nut tight enough. Using a pair of channel locks and a heavy rag I was able to tight up the nut. Now the end of the crankshaft is flush with the clutch bell.

Next up is installing that 3 shoe clutch.
 
Haha, good luck with the 3-shoe. The most important thing is the springs, dont modify them unless you have to becase you are likely to knock them out of sync. I did that and had to buy new springs cause one of my shoes wasn't coming into contact with the clutch until high rpms.
