You should do it! The technician license is easy to study for. It's been a lot of fun talking with my local group here. With the HF setup I hope to get some long distance contacts

I got my Technician's rating a few years back and bought a Xiegu G90 for use in conjunction with hiking, 4-wheeling, etc. I had so much for with it, I studied for my General, got it, and then bought a Yaseu FT-710 for indoor use. I've made contacts in 152 different countries so far.

Awesome! I'm excited to get some dx contacts, I hope I can be as successful as you have, it sounds so fun. I'd like to get into the SSTV bands too.
I'm studying to get my Extra license now. I just got an Icom 7300, built an OCF wire antenna too. When the winds here calm down I'll get that up on the roof

It isn't a nitro, let it rip after it gets warmed up. That heat cycle BS is unnecessary on 2-stroke gas.

It isn't a nitro, let it rip after it gets warmed up. That heat cycle BS is unnecessary on 2-stroke gas.

Good to know, figured that they don't have the "pinch" that Nitros have, so warm up and break-in isn't as critical.

Second start I let it warm up one or two minutes, then did some running with it. It got up and went, but think I only did one pass that briefly hit full throttle, then it was like the clutch went out?... No crashes, no jumps. Something in the left-side hub/drive broke/loosened (shaft doesn't turn with the wheel, RHS OK), but I haven't disassembled it, yet.

I'd heard that I should dis-assemble, then re-assemble this using loc-tite, so we'll see. I would have liked it better if I could have run full-tank of fuel before I had to put a wrench to it?...

Anything is possible. I am not sure exactly what you have going on so, you will have to open it up and see. The large scale forum is a great place to find some answers.

New ratchet set with hard to find Pearl Hard Handles still sealed. The plastic wrap film is a bit dirty, to be expected, but the ratchets are sealed. I'll open them up once I need to use them and then polish them up and stuff.
